I remember in the 80's when the only thing my parents would let me and my brothers watch was Disney because they could trust that nothing immoral was being fed to us kids.
Watching people throw away all of their Disney shit because they're trying to turn your kids into homolesbiatransexuals by the time they're four years old is just mind blowing.
Lawyers especially. A good friend who became a lawyer told me when I was a cop not to say anything or do anything in front of him that I don't want him bringing up in court if he ever went to the other side. He was serious. Also haven't spoken to him since 2008.
Well, I basically don't trust anyone I haven't known and proven their quality and integrity. I used to take a chance on piple and give the benefit of the doubt. No more.
Oh yes they did! They f*cking killed Bambi’s mother!? Like five minutes in the movie! Although over half a century ago, I remember it vividly, I was there with my grandmother in the theater. I cried my eyes out…..bastards!
Totally relate, though I've never seen Bambi. I think my generation's version of that was Artex dying in The Neverending Story (not Disney but DAMN that shit was sad).
My mother had to attend wakes and funerals as a child, they were school functions in Spain.
Kids all over the world see corpses along the street until they're removed. We try so hard to sanitize and shelter, Disney was okay to introduce those concepts because life is messy and people do die.
Having a pet is a learning experiences in many ways and their lives are short enough where you are confronted with the reality of death young enough.
At some point we have to learn, Disney did that rather tastefully, there are tons of things they did wrong, but tragedy is a part of life.
I was gonna say the same. Parables myths and stories often teach a life lesson. Disney sanitized alot of stories written much harsher
Sex is a whole other ballgame that small children don't need to know about.
Did you feel conflicting emotions? Something that was such a huge part of your childhood, turns out the whole thing was, in reality, a grooming operation?
Makes a lot of sense with the way Disney applies costs to tickets. There are the "kid's" cost (age 3 - 9) and "adult's" cost (10 and above). Kids 2 and under are "free". Disney treats anyone 10 and older as an adult.
used to view more of them as 'wholesome', but think we were brainwashed by it. happened to hear bonanza at the nursing home the other day. it was a scene with a teen boy, he was upset because another guy tried to kiss him:(
no i don't think so, it's just the old western show. just mentioned it because people reminisce about the good old days, but think it's ALL been shady for a long time. hard to find anything that isn't full of violence and innuendo.
Same in the 1960’s. Sunday night at 8:00 was Disney and I got to stay-up to watch. Only got 4-1/2 Stations then unless you got UHF. Adjust the antenna! Ingrained in my childhood.

I think the "people you trust most" applies to many. Doctors, Priests, Teachers and big mice. Or rats.
In my mind, the medical profession is like the government. They're both here to "help."
Add lawyers to that list. I do not trust any of them: lawyers, doctors, government, necessary evil.
Total truth right there ^

Yeah, help kill you

Exactly, mayors, police, state Reps...
Looking back on it and re-watching the old Disney stuff, I've found that it wasn't moral programming, even back then. Not even in the beginning.
Oh yes they did! They f*cking killed Bambi’s mother!? Like five minutes in the movie! Although over half a century ago, I remember it vividly, I was there with my grandmother in the theater. I cried my eyes out…..bastards!
yes it really does seem like they like to torture us; to get us all worked up.
gathering loosh I suppose.
What about “The Yearling”? Hard watch.

BECAUSE of killing Bambi's mother, I can't watch that movie or Dumbo! EVER...NEVER!
Many Mouseketeers lived messed up lives. Wondered if they were being groomed

When wholesome movies like Swiss Family Robinson and the Apple Dumpling Gand and Anne of Green Gables were the thing

Was it a remake or something? That doesn’t sound like the original. Wait, Bonanza was a Disney?
