The "church" tends to look down on people who read Enoch like most people used to look at "conspiracy theorists". The conspiracy folks are scoring a lot of points lately. Then there's Jude who straight out calls Enoch's writings "prophecy", then quotes. Still some good on YouTube (youtube.com)

I don't know why people scorn the deleted Bible books. They were there before any of the Popes, or even Luther intervened. It's not our place to judge what's God's Truth and what isn't. It's that hubris and ignorance that's going to land a lot of people in a place they thought they'd never see.

It was a Catholic agenda, Rome decided what books would go into the cannon of scripture we know as the Bible- they also have the Apocrypha, gospel according to Mary Magdalene and other obscure books

I have read that it was a protestant priest that gave us the current cannon in the 1500's. But Enoch changed the way I look at the world now.

It's like for every false doctrine that the "church" has embraced there's a vital part of God's word that appears intentionally hidden or twisted. Go figure 🤔

We know how to test anything that claims to be scripture. Many boast in their profound ability to do just that... And then they hide from a real exciting challenge.

Is understanding, and inclusion in the cannon of scripture, the book of Enoch or any of the books of the apocrypha necessary for salvation?

permalink save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– Factfiler 4 points 4 years ago +4 / -0

No, but including them would educate people on the fallen angels, Nephilim, corrupted DNA, bloodlines and why we are living in the world we are. Genesis 6:4 gives the basic premise, but it's Enoch that explains it.

Jesus didn't quote from the book of Enoch, that is why it was not included. The only other exception is the Book of Esther.

This was the rationale.

Where in the Bible does it say that we should convert the calendar according to a pope and ignore God's feasts and celebrate rituals to the sun? That's not in the Bible. But you can find scripture telling us how to know the times and the seasons.

The conspiracy hype is evidence that the enemy has been working to deceived the whole world while we aren't paying attention.

I'm not mad. I'm just encouraging a great awakening in the body of Christ. We do have the freedom you say but we are living in a paradigm that distracts is from the truth. So my questions about the calendar and my hints about sun worship are meant to make people think about this.

Our Bible tells us one thing but we do another. Why? I say it is meant by the enemy to distort our knowledge of Jesus.

Also I believe as it says in Hosea that the bride of Christ will be cleansed and even forget the names of Baalim (the gods of the world nations) before entering into the Kingdom. In other words, I don't think we're reading prophecy correctly.

The big deal is the mystique surrounding it. Some churches it is literally taboo, others it is measly frowned upon.

You can't get too harsh on a lot of people over this, the Bible literally warns against false teachers, and we have tons of examples.

So then some loon comes in with a book of Enoch or some such saying they have supplementary knowledge from outside the Bible that sheds light on everything.....?

Anyone who doesn't realize this scenario ends with full hostility is an idiot. Christians are trained to be insular in many aspects, including from where you draw source gospel.

Dispite some failings, it is in part what has kept the Holy Bible alive and the Word in-tact over literally millenia. Toss these safeguards aside flippantly at all of our perils.

Having said that, I've met many, MANY pastors, researchers, and scholars who obviously know scripture history, about supportive and other inspired books. Enoch is safe from all but the most simplistic of shepherds and sheepdogs.

You know the date? Think about the prophecy that says antichrist will seek to change the times. Even the paradigm of times has fallen into sun worship. God has a calendar and it's not according to a pope. God has feasts and they don't have anything to do with sun cycles, equinoxes or star patterns.

We're going into a time when we will really need to know our God. In spirit and truth. It's sobering and really quite sad to recognize how corrupted the church is and how poluted our world is. The Remnant will need the full armor of God and that's more than just the helmet.

You are not wrong. It is mainly lack of interest and complacency.

Our society does not well recognize scholarly studies as something to be respected and cherished, rather as something to be regailed with witt, scorn, or the mystique of lunacy. Sad really.

Well sometimes you don't see how big the lie is until you dive into it.

I mention Jude because that should settle the question of whether Enoch is the inspired Word of God. It IS. What is prophecy?

It's kind of been a tumble into a rabbit hole.

Then there's Jude who straight out calls Enoch's writings "prophecy", then quotes it. You follow some basic logic and discover we've been conditioned to ignore a LOT of scripture. We're even conditioned to practically deify the council of Nicea, as if they are beyond fallible, impossible to corrupt or unconsciously apply bias...

It's a very intriguing post you've made. Jesus and his disciples read from the Book of Enoch. There are other Books that make no sense as to why they're not included. The 'Didache' is one of them, which are the teachings of the 12 apostles. The word 'Didache' in the Greek means 'instruction' or 'doctrine' which has been taught'. It thus conveys Christ's last directive to Matthew (28:18-20). The Didache purports to be an instruction based on the sayings of Jesus and passed on by the 12 Apostles to potential converts to Christianity. Thus, it is not a manual for the use of bishops and deacons, but addressed to the people.

Furthermore, in the Didache Chapter II, states--

Now the second commandment of teaching is this:

"2. You shall not murder; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not corrupt the youth; you shall not commit fornication; you shall not steal; you shall not practice magic; you shall not use sorcery (Gr. 'pharmakeia'); you shall not kill a child by abortion; neither shall you slay it when born; you shall not covert the goods of your neighbor."

Notice that it commands us not to permit abortion.

It goes on and commands us to 3. "not to commit perjury; do not bear false witness; do not speak evil; do not bear malice."

It is a perfect for the times. Why was it excluded when it commands us to be 4. "not double-minded or double-tongued, for a double tongue is a deadly snare."

And 6. "Your speech shall not be false and empty, but made good by action."

There's more guidance in the Didache, but for the life of me why it was excluded from the Bible is hard to say. The genuineness of the the Didache can hardly be doubted. It was cited by Clement of Alexandria in his "First Stroma" by Eusebius, who speaks of it in his "History Eccl.", 3:25; and by Athanasius in his 39th "Festal Epistle". Though mentioned in these Apocryphal books of the New Testament, the Didache had not , since the time of Nicephorus in the 9th century AD, been known or quoted. It was found in the library of the Holy Sepulcher at Istanbul (Constantinople) in 1873. All chronological evidence indicates the Didache was compiled at a date as early as 70 AD, while most critics place it about 80-90 AD. This would mean it is as old or older than the Book of Revelations and the Letters of the Apostle John.

Yea... I think God himself could have stopped books from being removed from the Bible if that were the case.

Your mistake is two fold. First, underestimating God's power. Second, over estimating man.

By that logic, why were children allowed to be molested within his holy places of worship? The church and it's leaders have been proven to be corrupted many times thru history. You think they have the audacity to molest children in a holy place but would have reservation about editing the bible to suit their needs?

Man is corrupt, not God.

And, just because the catholic clergy claims something to be a "holy place" doesn't make it so. The fact that the catholic clergy does these things should make it obvious that nothing about them is holy.

Jude (that book right before Revelations your bible) quotes the First book of Enoch and calls it prophecy.

The page you linked to makes very dismissive and frankly incoherent assertions about the book without any SCRIPTURAL refutation of Jude. If Jude was quoting something written by Enoch then wouldn't you like to read more of it? The website sets a strange standard that I'm sure they do not apply to all the other quotations throughout the bible.

I will read more of their "refutations" but I'm already noticing a trend. It's like the Washington Post writing about the bible. ' It claims a virgin gave birth to a child, but that's impossible! ' well golly.
