In a society with a well-aligned moral compass, and a close-knit family involved in the goal of proliferation there to prevent domestic abuse, the Court system would go on to involve itself only in petty squabbles of kermudgions and scrooges.
Of course, there's no profit in that, so round and round we go with laws passed, precedents set, and procedure designed to ensure there's always a way to screw someone honest over a barrel of fetid scams.
