It's pretty simple - it Trump claims to be the elected president, the MSM will claim that he can't run in 2024. There are still people who think Trump was a bully and an asshole on Twitter, and when you try to explain what he was doing, it goes against their deeply held beliefs. And then it becomes about their religion. Very unproductive.
Another thing - the DS might be fine with Trump being the duly elected president in 2020, if they can buy enough time to destroy the country first, install more SC judges, and remove the weapons from the people. After that, it won't matter who is in DC, and Trump won't be able to run in 2024 anyway.
