When you test a person for zinc levels, you give them a zinc liquid. Those with the proper levels say it tastes terrible. Someone who is somewhat lacking says it tastes sort of sweet. Those with zinc deficiencies taste nothing. So, zinc should be one of the things people who lack smell and taste should be taking.
I temporarily lost my sense of smell when I caught Covid. What was really disturbing was that I could not smell bleach, which we use as a disinfectectant.
Then most of my sense of smell returned, but it was altered. In particular, fresh cooked fish smelled like it was rotten. And I could smell the septic tank truck miles away. Still couldn't smell bleach.
It's been over a year and my sense of smell is getting better. I can smell bleach again, and the poop truck isn't so bad. But it's still hard to eat fish because of the smell.

Nice some people have had the no taste smell problem after the nasal swab. Try smelling coffee grounds or something really pungent to reactivate that channel. It is an odd symptom.
Yea I haven’t got my sense of smell completely back and it’s been 7 months. Also there is another thing that develops with smell from Covid, parosmia, a condition where perceptions of odour are distorted. I seem to smell the same smell for some things. Annoying.
this'll sound nuts. pour a glass of decent whiskey and sip it verrrry slowly over the space of a few hours--just keep sniffing it every so often. try to smell the aromatics,
i think it is a combination of the alcohol's effects and the effort.
There was a chiropractic manipulation that was supposed to work. I don't recall the entirety, but look it up. Something about a smack to the back of the head. (No kidding)
Gently warm castor oil on the stove or microwave. Make sure it is warm and not hot.
Place two drops of oil in each nostril twice a day: once upon waking and right before sleep.
I smell fumes all the time now. Like from a vehicle. Indoors. No excuse for it. And very little sense of smell otherwise. No vaxx no tests but I did get sick and have stubborn issues. Some finally subsiding and others status quo at the moment. Ivermectin has helped me greatly and I've noticed that vite C and D3 high doses daily make me feel better. Plus the other recommendations.
