Wow, my state (TN) is #50, the cheapest. Nice to know. No state income tax, reasonable sales tax, Constitutional Carry state, and is quite a beautiful place to live.
Lived in Franklin, TN and Fairview. Housing costs offset many of those benefits. Hard to imaging it being the cheapest.
The housing market is still skyrocketing in Middle TN. Housing is not cheap in some counties.
I would for sure live there if I didn't already live in TX.
Ditto.!
Good luck. You're going to need it now that the whole country knows.
Actually, I've considered moving there. But if I did, I'd want enough land to setup a shootin range. How would that go over?
Most cities and towns have restrictions about shooting inside city limits (except in the obvious case of self defense). But most counties don't have that restriction. I can tell when a gun show is in progress, my neighbors across a valley shoot their new toys. I hear shooting all the time in the immediate area around me, but to my knowledge only one homicide was committed in the past 10 years or so. I use a local range myself, being more thoughtful toward my neighbors AND not wanting to advertise that I'm a shooter.
Good to know. I'd want to be a few miles out of town, depending on the size of the town.
You may have me as a neighbor early next year. Which cities would you recommend? Somebody told me Knoxville is a good choice.
In other words, living in Knox County is good but I wouldn't live in the city. Those other nearby towns I mentioned are very livable.
Knoxville city is a blue city, but it's surrounded by a red Knox County. Nice towns close to Knoxville are Lenoir City, Oak Ridge, Maryville, and Powell.
Surprised Illinois isn't maroon/brown, but instead Michigan is. Feels like they mixed the two up...
They are only counting Detroit Metro, Jackson, Lansing and Ann Arbor. I got a spot in the UP that may as well be Mars to the people that live in the south cities.
Ah, well that makes perfect sense then. Yep, been to the UP many times, it's a whole different place.
Born and raised there friend - Yooper 4 life. I’m a former member of the 906 too. My parents and family are still there but I’m in TX now.
Ugh effing Virginia….I did so used to love this state.
Better than us Marylanders..
Ditto. I lived 6 yrs in Roanoke, VA, before I had to just move back to Tx. Love the blue ridge area, it's just too beautiful.... too pretty to be so spoiled by the evil libtards the way they are.
The most expensive states to live in are the most likely to complain about income disparity. Funny how that works. Fight urban gentrification and gentrify your entire state.
South Dakota is full. No vacancy.
And no jobs
And no houses either.
Heck, we don't even have indoor plumbing here yet ;)
Seriously though, Noem running her mouth 24/7 about this state to outsiders is ruining our state as housing is getting harder and harder to find and definitely jacking up the prices. People who have had families live here for generations are finding it impossible to get into their first time homes as out of staters, even out of country people, move here and buy up the houses with cash on hand. She only cares about increasing the tax base though (we may not have state taxes here, but they get you everywhere else, ESPECIALLY property taxes. Looking at you Lincoln and Minnehaha county!)
Conservative states ftw.
Yay I win! I live in the one of the most expensive!
HomeSnacks?
Interesting, NH has no income tax, but ranks #10 here.
Maybe it's property tax do you have that?
NH is top 2 or 3 for property tax.
GC
Yes, but I don't know what kind of rate. It's bound to be high as an offset. Last time I was there sales tax was zero, too.
Bama is now requiring Pledge of Allegiance to The Constitution of the United States of America...
All Patriots welcome,
traitors need not apply....
I would live in the northern part of Bama (Huntington?) if I didn't already live in Texas. It would be a tossup between your state and TN.
In what parts of the Star do you grace ?
I've lived in Houston and parts south. Left in 92.
Huntsville alabama (north bama) has tons of government money being injected into it's economy. Growing at breakneck speed, and attracting all the wrong people. I fear we're heading to a fight, for bama's soul.
Oh what freakin shame about Huntsville. I live in Big D.
Dallas has the hottest girls in the world.
Many friends in D/FW area, try to visit as often as I can.
I agree with another post of yours, the Blue Ridge is entirely to beautiful for us to abandon her to the lefty loons.
Soon we'll reclaim All of America for Americans, Coast to Coast.
We bought and paid for it all with American blood, it's ours by right.
Amen to that!!! May God save America!!
Ohio is only in the middle because of the 3 Cs. I live where housing costs are a fifth of the national average. I would love to move to TN though. My girlfriend's family live in KY, and they vacation there frequently. Seems like a beautiful place
That’s because everyone got property taxes out of IL to northwest IN! It’s not bad in the rest of the state.
