Expert says she's influx of 'COVID babies' who haven't hit milestones
The phenomenon, speech pathologist Nancy Polow says, is part of a trend in kids born during or shortly before the pandemic, who are 'falling behind' on key milestones due a lack of interaction during that span.
I don't doubt this is happening, but the parents' lack of interaction with the kids must have more to do with this than the lockdowns. Back in the 1700s and 1800s, many kids spent most of their time with parents and siblings, mostly staying at home and maybe only seeing others at church once a week, yet those kids grew up able to communicate without any problems.
...I was attributing "masks" as one of the reasons....
Yeah, but that means they were wearing their masks all the time at home.
...wasn't that what they were told to do?
A kid in a full time daycare is there 10 hours and they also sleep 10 hours.. that didn't leave much time for normality.
This is the truth we a should be speaking.
What a time to be speech pathologist (and psychologist, and cardiologist and oncologist and ....)
....don't forget, mortician....
In the end the Mortician get them all...
There is potential for a poem here ...
All I see is dollar signs in those fields

Read somewhere that kids learn to speak by seeing the mouth movements of their parents.
Masking is evil.
...exactly....

Parents???? Fuck that, my grand kids learned to speak from their parents. Way before they ever went to a school.
These people aren't parents they're sperm and egg donors who then pay for others to raise their kids.
This is true. My children were all fluent speakers by age three. Was it because of the socialization at Daycare and Preschool? No, it was because they were home with me and I talked to them all day. They also talked with and played with each other. Very well socialized.
they’ll be dead in a few years from the vax anyway.
...sadly true...
...praying that it is not...
They forgot potty training lagging too.
Apparently that's been going on for a while. They now have "pull up" panties (aka diapers) for kids four to five years old. Been seeing them for several years now.
...in twenty years, there is going to be hell go pay....
