Is there anything hemp can’t do? A year after hemp became legal to grow in the United States,
we’ve seen its power to make better clothing, better buildings and better medicine.
Now, there’s something else hemp appears to be better at. ✴making batteries✴
Most auto batteries today are made from lithium-ion, an expensive, quickly disappearing material.
A team of American and Canadian researchers have developed a battery that could be used in cars and power tool
using hemp bast fiber – the inner bark of the plant that usually ends up in landfill.
They “cooked” the woody pulp and processed them into carbon nanosheets, which they used to build supercapacitors “on a par with or better than graphene” – the industry gold standard.
Graphene is a synthetic carbon material lighter than foil yet bulletproof, but it is prohibitively expensive to make.
“People ask me: why hemp? I say, why not?” inventor David Mitlin tells the BBC.
“We’re making graphene-like materials for a thousandth of the price – and we’re doing it with waste.”
Mitlin, a chemical engineer, first published a description of his team’s battery in the journal ACS Nano in 2014.
More recently, a YouTuber put the hemp battery to the test against a lithium-ion battery and found it to be 8 times more powerful!
Tesla’s new million-mile battery is made from lithium-iron phosphate, which is supposed to last twice as long as conventional lithium-ion batteries.
While more abundant and cheaper than lithium-ion, lithium-iron-phosphate still can’t compete with the apparently far-more-powerful (and renewable) hemp!

Comment of the day!
Do you know who got hemp discredited so he could get his nylon crap used instead? The Dupont family...one of the thirteen. Bloodlines..a Dupont got six months jail I think for raping his baby daughter...this world is so corrupt...where was the outrage???
I'm surprised that monster got any jail time at all.
Pretty sure Beau Biden was the Delaware Attorney General who ensured the light sentence.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence Joe Biden purchased a mansion in 1974 from the DuPont family at a below market value price.

During the days after the 2016 election I utilized Donald Trump's online suggestion box to ask him to remove all federal laws against Cannabis sativa. With his signing of the farm bill restrictions were lifted on hemp so I like to take some small amount of credit!
;-)
Hemp plants supposedly produce more oxygen than trees do and they grow in about 30 days. It can make its own paper, plastic, fiber, and even building materials. The number one producer of hemp is China; I think that needs to change.
No coincidence that Chy-nah is the number one producer.
If you get a chance, do some research on why it became illegal. Total bs. Greed outweighed logic and commons sense. Smh.
A capacitor is not a battery.
A capacitor (also known as a condenser) is also an electronic component that stores electrostatic energy in an electric field.
They are more like a battery but they are used for entirely different purpose. While a battery uses chemical reactions to store electrical energy and releases power very slowly through an electronic circuit, capacitors are capable of releasing energy very rapidly.
Capacitors have higher voltages than batteries, but last for a very short amount of time in comparison. The result is batteries can do more work.
Good capacitors would be useful in a hybrid, but are useless in an EV.
Eh, that really depends on the dielectric material in the capacitor. In theory a high dielectric constant could produce a capacitor with characteristics close to a battery.
Such a capacitor would be highly explosive.
To be fair, large lithium batteries aren't all that safe either 😛.
Capacitors are still SUPER USEFUL in the world of electronics
It would save millions in the electronics market mass produce
True, but there is a way to extract a charge to hold in the capacitor.
Sauce behind a Youtube paywall. I don't believe anything that people are unwilling to make public. If I had a dollar for every "secret" discovery people are unwilling to share with the public, I wouldn't be worried about the upcoming USD crisis.
This is the paywall Youtube video linked from the OP's URL. If anyone can access this I would be interested in watching it.

I'll believe it is possible when I can see it in action. At least a prototype. Graphene/hemp for supercapacitors? Sure. No problem believing that. Lots of research already done in that arena. Ultimately carbon is carbon, no matter the source, and hemp is an excellent source of carbon. Hemp as a replacement for LiFePo batteries though? Different animal entirely, and I haven't yet seen anything that would lead me to believe this is possible with our current technology.
I would be happy to be educated about this however, if anyone has access to real information.
A normie friendly video without research references claiming you can get graphene and diamond abundantly from hemp:

Everyone fucking knows Graphene makes a better battery than Lithium. The issue is how to manufacture it at a large scale. It's very easy to get, they've shown they can get graphene from pencil lead
https://medium.com/swlh/the-incoming-graphene-age-2b3b30814393
but how do you do it cost effectively? Nobody ever answers this shit.
Vaporware until purchasable.
It's almost like humanity is SUPPOSE to use weed...
Ab so flippin lutely!
Our creator made our human body for various Cannabinoid receptors...
The DS knows this as continues to spew false bullshite about this
So, if Energizer makes a Hemp battery.... Will the bunny just play his drum laying on the couch, eating chips?
This is interesting. It would be nice to see the original research.
From 2014.

Quite right. This isn't anything new though. This was reported at least back in 2014; some 8 years ago, and probably known earlier. So, where is this technology and why isn't it in the marketplace?
The answer is that it is being blocked from ever getting into the marketplace. Why would I say this? Because any improvement to battery efficiency, or similar, will tip the scale away from dependency on the energy grid. Governments typically don't want this, especially the one world government. People will be using this new technology to free themselves of dependency and power their homes and shops off-the-grid.
For those pundits who insist the technology will only improve, that's yet another deception and fraud. Why do I say this? Read up on the Invention Secrecy Act, then become familiar with 35 U.S.C. 181; the so-called Secrecy of Certain Inventions and Withholding of Patent to understand there are several suffocating national security measures against inventions and new energy technology. National security is all about maintaining the monopolies and oligopolies that have been ruling our economy. This ought to be the fact everyone knows.
From the government's point of view, this would be an absolute threat to the infrastructure of the United States. During the Obama presidency, there was a dramatic move in several States to eliminate existing off-the-grid homes. One example was Los Angeles County's move to find any 'gotcha' violations to the many off-the-grid homes in Antelope Valley. The many decades old homesteaders were forced to disassemble and remove their homes for reasons that were never formally an issue in the decades living there. In many other States, they were forcing homesteaders through draconian requirements and lawfare to be on the grid or their homes were seized.
The United States economic infrastructure is a national security issue. But, how far does one take this? This is why the advancement of energy technology will never happen. The corporate monopolies and oligarchies have long been in bed with government to which they themselves are quasi-government entities, similar to the US Post Office. It's all about control and having complete power over you and I. The very definition of government is power and control. It is always a pervasive and abusive force.
If you have issue believing this scenario I painted above in regards to inventions, lets look at the number of patented inventions confiscated by the US government. The most recent information I have is from 2015, to which there were an accumulation of 5,579 invention secrecy orders in effect. In that year alone there were 95 new secrecy orders imposed. Only 36 prior orders have ever been rescinded in the history of this Act. How many more have there been in seven years up to 2022?
The Cabal will never allow improved energy inventions to become commercialized for the reason of maintaining total control. The wonders of innovation are continuously being stymied. From their lofty seat of financial power the decision has been made that there are too many cars on the roads and only option is public transportation. This is all about the 2030 Agenda. Believe it or not, I've been hearing this chatter since the 1970s.
Indeed, there is marvelous technology not being allowed in the public sphere. The government only enforces the status quo. There is existing right now far better technology in batteries. As mentioned in the article, Hemp fibers are better than graphene for superconductivity and can be implemented in batteries. They have experimented with all flavours of biowaste - from peat moss to eggs. Even banana peels can be turned into very good batteries. Then there are nano-diamond self-charging batteries that could disrupt energy as we know it. The list of inventions goes on and on. None of them are on the market for the reason I mentioned above. Absolute Control.
Did you know in 1971, energy conversion systems were subject to review and possible restriction if they offered conversion efficiencies “in excess of 70-80%.” How much has changed from that time to the present? Automobiles today still get approximately the same MPG as in the 1930s. The only technology that has drastically changed are the computers; so-called "Smart" technology, which is really a euphemism for a Spy Device.
That's not what I said. You said this. In fact, that question you made isn't germane to the subject I addressed.
I completely disagree with you. Using ad hominems tells me you have nothing to provide here. Goodbye.
It seems you never comprehended anything I wrote. I talked about the permitted existing energy technology in the public domain that the ruling Cabal controls. No where did I ever mention 'Q'. Instead, you mentioned 'Q'. It's another discussion and not germane to my thesis. Later in this post, I will mention what 'Q' has to say about this.
Our energy technology has not changed in the public domain for over 100 years. This is an absolute fact and is manifest everywhere. Even the Dimwits seem to understand this much. I also talked about the thousands of patented inventions that have been confiscated and then pointed to the Congressional Acts that permit this evil to propagate as exhibits of evidence. Furthermore, I discussed some of the many technologies that are being withheld. By conveniently dismissing this and instead rudely attacking me using ad hominems as the basis of your entire argument is pathetic and unfair.
The following is another very important technology currently being censored that would change the world. Automobiles would nearly never need to be refueled and would emit virtually no pollution. Yet, the environment is not the real reason to get rid of ICE vehicles. In their own words they don't want us to own any cars. Regarding this revolutionary energy technology, every home and business would be independently powered by its own source of energy (off-the-grid) without nearly ever having to be replenished. And in doing so, would be incredibly inexpensive. This technology has been repeatedly verified by 3rd party researchers. In fact, they even determined it to having one million times the energy density of gasoline. This was reported was back in 2014. However, LENR technology or 'Low Energy Nuclear Reaction' goes back decades earlier. LENR has been shown to be far stronger than any known chemical reaction and up to 20'000'000 times the power density of today’s combustion energy processes.
LENR technology LENR is a 3rd type of nuclear reaction (along with fission and fusion) based on atomic transmutations that was originally discovered in 1989 by scientists Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons. It used to be called “cold fusion” at that time. I recall reading the first reports of this coming out of BYU. I also watched Fleischmann and Pons' publicly persecuted with incessant attacks on their credibility and character. LENR covers a larger field of experiments and applications than cold fusion, although that may remain the most used name to characterize these reactions. LENR has also been called LANR, Fleischmann/Pons Effect, Anomalous Heat Effect, Quantum Fusion, CECR, LENT.
Andre Rossi is the inventor of "E-CAT" LENR technology. On March 03, 2022, he wrote he has 800 thousand pre-orders. Rossi stated on March 3rd, 2022 that production had started, and that there are manufacturing locations in both the USA and Europe. This has been a long time coming because production was suppose to start at some point starting in 2008. Let's hope he succeeds. However, most of the units have been ordered by the so called “big buyers”, which means buyers that made pre-orders for more than 1000 units. Charles Pogue, the inventor of the 200 mpg Pogue Carburator experienced the same thing in the late 1930s. Rossi's explanation seems to indicate the 'problems' trying to move the E-CAT to the open public.
Of course the big question that everyone wants to know is when the E-Cat will be on the market, producing useful energy. None of the above points made above can tell us that, and Rossi himself won’t make a definitive prediction about that. He says he is hopeful, but has not predicted victory — ‘results could be positive or negative’ is his mantra when it comes to predictions. Here's an open thread with the same story I have experienced since 2011 or so. For 'some' reason, the E-CAT is still not publicly available after more than 14 years and counting. This is same story we find for much improved energy technology across the board. I have a library of energy technologies since the 1980s all sharing a similar fate
I am not aware of a single 'Q' posting regarding advanced energy technology for public consumption. Only post 749 provides a glimpse at the Cabal's mindset.
I was a big Rossi fan but no more, his E-CAT is a con.
But there are other people who are not grifters as Rossi is, they are trying to build and open source a LENR engine that anyone with some good engineering tools and experience can build for themselves.

Very good post. My Parents lived this scenario. Father was an engineer and an inventor. Before the early 70’s “manufactured” gas shortages my father had an invention that saved fuel mileage on millions of vehicles. He was “invited” by a certain very wealthy person/family, that is commonly” referred to as part of the Cabal on social media, to showcase his patents and was urged to accept their “help” in bringing to the market. He didn’t accept and the Company was stolen from him with the assistance of the Small Business Association (SBA). It did come to market but at a fraction of the potential. The System only allows what the “controllers” want.
My regrets hearing this about your dad. This type of theft is more common than people know. It happened to me. I watch an invention I developed get stolen from me that was 'shopped' around to all the companies unbeknownst to me. How do I know it happened? One company I visited presenting my prototype let it slip out that 'someone' from the university came in the other day with my invention. This academic later started a company with my idea. Yea, it happens far more than people think.
I think Hemp could be a great investment. Anyone have any info on Hemp companies?
The moment I went from a happy stoner to angry 6th generation American was reading Jack E. Herer's "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" back a couple decades ago. The books was published in 1985 with a $100,000 bounty to anyone that could disprove what the author wrote about the history of Cannabis dating back almost 10,000 years. He passed a few years back but as far as I know no one has claimed that bounty to date.
I have come to the conclusion that the "cabal" demonized this wonderful family of plants to further distance mankind from their spiritual side. I highly (pun intended) recommend it a source of education on this subject.
Henry Ford built an entire car using hemp products that never made it to market.
William Randolph Hearst ran a nationwide yellow journalism campaign to help bring in the prohibition of all things Cannabis related in order to keep his vast timber holdings in the Pacific Northwest as a viable long term cash cow supplying pulp to the paper industries.
Once upon a time in these United States, before they became states or united for that matter, land grants required that Hemp be grown on the lands by decree of the crown.
Cannabis is actually a gift from the creator.
I cannot prove it but when the growing of Hemp was prohibited, International Paper, Georgia Pacific and the other paper giants might have had a hand in getting it banned. One acre of Hemp will produce more paper products in a year than an acre of trees over a 20 year period but that would destroy the pulp wood industry!
Thanks trump for 2018 farm bill . Finally all 50 states can grow this plant

I wonder what hildabeast thinks about this invention.
No. Just no . Do not encourage electic vehicle non sense. Fuck EVs
I’m not getting rid of my truck, but I support solar panels and electric vehicles as long as the components are produced domestically. Having an around town vehicle or commuter that you can produce electricity at home for is just self sufficiently at its finest. I get good solar output in my area so for some it makes sense. If they make a large and affordable home battery system I could theoretically go off grid completely and be insulated from all the bullshit. I could just shrug off cyber attacks on infrastructure and that appeals to me.
If it's that good, the inventor should open source the production method as a suicide insurance.
Open source can only be done if the people that invent things are rich. How can a person be expected to spend years working on something, and then just give it away. I look at it as a form of slavery. No one should have to work for free.
Not an expectation, a survival strategy.
If several people start making them, then suicide doesn't stop anything. Also, profit is useless for someone who gets suicidal.
I agree, but clown world doesn't want real solutions.
