Welcome to the gulf coast. Yes, it sucks, but you will get used to it. However, you're about to see the very best of your neighbors. You will learn of true heroes like the Cajun Navy and others from all around the gulf coast.
As an added benefit, it's really hard for the media to portray fake racism or classism, or any other ism as a problem when you see people of all descriptions working together for complete strangers regardless of any fabricated narratives. It is, and always has been we the people. Times like these pull us together.
We lived in Panama City Beach when Hurricane Michael, a cat 5 storm hit and this is absolutely true. No matter what race people will come from all over to help strangers and neighbors in need during a disaster such as this. It opened my eyes to the generosity of mankind and also that the country is not so divided as the MSM leads people to believe. Prayers for safety and strength for my fellow Floridians as they navigate through the difficult days ahead.
Howdy neighbor. Ditto that. You know our neighbors, the "Cajun Navy" are already on the scene along with their gulf coast brothers and sisters. Heroes all. They beat FEMA to the scene every time. WWG1WGA
Prayers are going out to you. We have fam out there and I am worried about them at this point. They were laughing with my inlaws, just as news broke that the storm made landfall, that they were enjoying their hottub in Orlando. I hoping they are okay.
I find it odd, that this storm was able to only hit a small portion of Cuba. But somehow it hits florida at the right angle and takes the course for maximum damage. Almost looks guided right ? Ima get called a kook for this but before you talk out ya asses. Watch this

Unusually weather can happen. But yes the ice storm could have been cloud seeding and making it snow on purpose. The path Ian took is what is suspect as hell for me.
Interesting. I remember seeing a graphic showing an unusually high amount of lightning in Ian. It was so strange seeing the water get pulled out of Tampa Bay and even further north. Praying for everyone in SWFL.
I give to Samaritan's Purse. I've done research on them and they are legit. Not only do they help financially, they actually go to disaster areas and physically help re-build, and pray with people.
As a prepper, are any of those skills useful to your neighbors? (Sidenote, I'm a bit of a pagan, and I dunno how people would feel about me praying to a heathen god for help in these things, so it's always a little awkward, that's why I try to make these kinds of suggestion instead... =/)
I personally wouldn’t want prayers for my sake to go to anyone other God. It wouldn’t insult my faith in my savior and Lord by putting it in the hands of falsehood.
I am on the board of directors for a small charity that helps communities to take control of improvement projects away from bureaucrats and into the hands of the community members. A few months ago we published a curriculum on how to use this methodology to rebuild your community after a disaster: https://www.waluinternational.org/about-4-1. The curriculum is inexpensive, easy to understand, and easy to utilize.
I have loved ones in your area who lost their homes. My prayers are with you all. If you are interested in Walu's help with your own community's rebuild efforts, please PM me.
Prayers for everyone in Florida dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane. May God watch over everyone and provide for their needs. Stay safe, fren!

Been praying and will continue to do so. 🙏
Prayers for everyone impacted by this storm.
I'm a former 45 year resident of Houston... I've lived through some bad hurricanes... I completely feel your pain..

May the Lord God Almighty have great care over FL as y'all go through all this.
May He guide and protect you, and provide exactly what is needed in the exact timing required.
May GOD work through US to do miracles, to bring His own to Him, and to bring good to prevail over this terrible event.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Is there somewhere reputable non globalist place where I can make a donation in funds to help assist from across the world?

My advice is find someone from here that you know lives there. And send them a care package.

Isn't that like being a bit pregnant? You either are or you are not imo.
fair point. lmao
I'm Pagan-leaning agnostic tbh. I've no gripe against Christians as a whole, though, so I try to be respectful.
...even if I occasionally poke fun from time to time.
Same lol
indeed... unless somebody has a boat, dunno how to help with that... =/

hence why i hesitate, lol. I may joke, but I never wish to honestly insult another's faith...
Glad you’re ok. DeSantis will get stuff out faster than the guy in charge when Irma struck.
Stay safe.
Buddy's folks have a place on Ft Myers beach, it's still there. All the neighbors houses are gone. Remarkable amount of damage
