The normies I have to interact with either seem oblivious to this or feel like it’s just typical political hyperbole. Based on my small sample, I don’t think this is producing a scare event.
The normies I interact with (including the conservative normies) think Putin is the bad guy and we should be doing more to help Ukraine.
I'm kind of thinking there would need to be a small-scale "attack" (I'm hoping not, though). Considering NYC had the signs talking about what to do if an attack happened, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened there again.
