This has been on my mind for a bit, so I wanted to vent out while ask this question:
What is GreatAwakening's take on enjoying works made by wicked people?
As a Christian, I fully understand the notion of everyone falling short of God, but the wicked people I am referring to usually are the known or suspected Satanists (like Lady Gaga) or Globalist pawns (like Rhianna). Their earlier works are enjoyable, but I am not sure if I should continue to enjoy them given their reputation...
I can testify to that. Used to like a lot of old hard rock. Still enjoy some of the music when I hear it, but the words (sometimes the melodies) annoy my spirit, so it's more like 1 and done with no desire to seek it out.
There's plenty of Christian music of all genres out there, and they should be supported for making wholesome music.
I find I sometimes have to change the words to songs to give them Godly meaning if I like the tune. Then I'll play it myself.
I won’t tune in to movies with Robert DeNiro and many others for this very reason. Once I have a pretty firm take on who they are and what they represent I will not support them. NFL, Netflix, Kellogg’s and the list goes on and on.
Same, find I boycott the dirtbags
Well nice to see you here. I was in a thread around a week ago and it was noted that you hadn't been around for a while. We hadn't seen a post/comment for about a month. I'm glad to see that you are ok.
I’ve stopped listening to most of the music I’ve listened to my whole life. A good place to start is the lyrics. Really dive in and see if they are promoting a healthy idea. The more in tune with God you are, the more you’ll see what is ok and what is planting seeds of destruction. Dive deeper into the artist and what they believe. I’ve been a big fan of Tool since I was a teenager. Their drummer has been my favorite drummer of all time. When I dug into what he believes, it was shocking. He always plays in front of a large circle with geometric patterns on it. After researching, it is called a spirit board and he uses it to channel spirits into himself while drumming. He believes he has summoned a demon and trapped it in his studio through his drumming. He plays drums in certain geometric patterns that he believes help with all of this. He is enamored with the occult. I no longer listen to Tool because I feel there is spiritual danger even in just the music without any lyrics. It’s not easy to give it all up but, why play with the devils toys?
Same here. I was big Tool fan back in the day also. You are correct, get into the lyrics and they pretty much tell you what they believe. I can never listen to these "artists" the same way ever again.
Judge them by their actions. I don't listen to Taylor Swift anymore. She is socially divisive and an active tool of the left.
Rihanna for example, is also very outward about her politics
https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/rihanna-trump-graffiti-9435115/
However, her influence is limited. She rarely records new music, she's not in any movies, she mostly sticks to herself and markets her lingerie/clothing line and profits off her royalties
So I don't mind listening to her on occasion, because she's at this point a has been and listening to Umbrella is as benign as listening to Rock You Like a Hurricane or Minnie the Moocher
I'd look at this way. The majority of commetcial music recorded "for the Lord" is sheer garbage. It's salting the salt. It's tepid and uninspired. I can name a few truly good Christian songs, yes, they're out there.
I hard it incredibly hard to believe that truly beautiful, artistic music is a sin. That something like https://youtu.be/tZR20RJcY4w is sending me to hell and I should instead listen to https://youtu.be/1thVi6T9rEo The Corinne song purely and accurately represents the sanctity and intimacy of my marriage whereas the St James song is a joke of a pop song written to push abstinence.
If all Christian music was this...I would get it
https://youtu.be/1q8pWgDsv1E
But it's not...so do yourself a favor and in the words of Rihanna "Please don't stop the music!"
I feel the same about Swift. She just started showing how blond she really is. Sad that money went to her head....
Good point why is Christian music largely such Trash if indeed it is divinely inspired?
Almost like it's that on purpose to push kids the other direction
Precisely..it's incredibly nefarious. Holier than thou..in fact Tech n9ne has a brilliant point he made in a song
"This verse was intended for a gospel rapper that we all admire And he goes by the name of Da T.R.U.T.H All we wanted was a righteous man to lead us in the right direction And maybe if he came we could change and regroup So we laid it down and sent it hopin' we would rap wit us, track splittas Waited, and none of his people got back wit us We kept callin' and they finally answered, when a month passed We was prepared to do whatever, give it if he wants cash But the lady who represent 'em would never Send 'em a message from a secular messenger"

Awoox3 it goes up :)
Great break down.
First, I'm sorry if I sound combative or contrary, I promise I'm just trying to tell you what I know. Rihanna's make-up line Fenty has HUGE clout in the cosmetics world, and everyone trips over themselves to heap praise on it whenever she does new releases. That's where her influence has been over the past few years and unfortunately, it works. :/
I agree 100% with you on Taylor Swift. I called her "oh so sweet" act out from the very beginning.
I didn't list Fenty because Fenty isn't really working for the cabal. My blonde conservative wife uses Fenty. Rihanna chose to sell at Sephora, which is owned by LVMH. So Rihanna has MAGA customers

LVMH donated to Trump in both 2016 and 2020
Sure, if Rihanna out of no where says "Trumpers don't buy my makeup" I'll throw it away but time and time again Rihanna proves the only color she cares about isn't black or dem blue..it's capitalist green!
Please provide good reading on the Stones being evil sounds interesting
Well I didn't know if there was a backstory or more info. I mean yea the song names obv
Yeah just wondering what kind of saucy dirt there was
As much as it pained me to realize this, yes Rock'n'Roll was made so youths would rebel against / reject God. There's a lot of quite ungodly music out there. I've switched to completely different music with beautiful lyrics / no lyrics now. It affects you differently, really does.
1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23
Is it constructive or edifying? Does it build you up? Does it dominate you?
Here's a good guide for the content you should focus on: https://www.bible.com/bible/72/PHP.4.8.HCSB
I feel the same way and turn them off now, don’t need their low vibrations in my mind. I want light to occupy what I am exposed to.
Anyone else ever hear that there is a ''ritual room'' in certain top record label buildings where they try to increase the power of recordings about to be released?
I've never heard that specifically, but I wouldn't be surprised. Daft Punk released a visual companion to one of their albums that runs with that theme.
Serious Q: Elvis - white hat or DS tool?
Being that he sort of started Rock and roll and the gyrations etc.
I can separate things pretty well.
The philosophical side of me does wonder if simply enjoying a cretins work makes me complicit.
My opinion is your beliefs are your own. And the Man knows what you are made of.
This is a tough one for me too. Perhaps I am just justifying something I love, but here are my thoughts:
Good creates, evil destroys. Great art comes from divine inspiration. Perhaps evil people are reaching the divine through hallucinogenics, theft, or pain, but the end result is a message from the divine. You can even see the evil layered over divinely inspired art. Ex: woke garbage ruining a good story.
No retreat from the battlefield. Know the mind of our enemy.
I was going to post the same thing.
All things of beauty glorify God, and none are so evil that He cannot turn their labors to good.
It's OK to like the art without liking the artist.
You probably don't want to give the artist your financial support, though.
Personal choice is to keep my mind free of their dark shit.
