For the visual and auditory learner, I will be doing a screen casting of all the steps I use to make my memes. Hence, the advanced thread so we can gather information on what Anons would like covered.
It is definitely worth reading back through previous meme workshops to gather ideas and questions for the new workshop series.
Even more of a surefire way to success, screen recording! Probably saves more time in the long run anyway. Big props to u/Qanaut

I used to have a pepe by my name. It lasted a couple days. Then the evil mods took it back. You say you'll supply one? If the mods can give it to you, that means the mods can take it back.
Let this be a warning to others.
I'm off to learn how to grow my own pepe.
To clarify for other Anons...
The Mod Team made changes to the way in which Anons obtain Pepes.
We no longer distribute Pepes manually. We have a script running that will automatically give any Anon with 30,000 total Karma points between comments and posts a Pepe. Anons are of course free to message the Mods once they have a Pepe if they would like a different one, and we can usually accommodate.
If any Anon had a Pepe taken away, it likely occurred when we implemented the script. Luckily, it is very easy to obtain 30,000 karma points between comments and posts. Post high quality content frequently, and you can earn a username Pepe in a few months time.

GIMP is a free image program that is just as powerful as Photoshop.
The "Foreground Select Tool" is also a wonderful tool for deleting backgrounds and is super easy to use:
Step 1: Roughly trace what you want to keep. Step 2: Paint over your background and foreground, leaving only the part you want the AI to determine in as little quantity as possible. Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit!

When i was putting graphics together my biggest problem was pixelation.
I can cover some methods of how to avoid this.
The other thing that drives me nuts is how Q said the message has to be carefully crafted. Crafting the message in a professional manner, and not just "slapped together" is sometimes harder done than said.
The best memes are easily understood and drive the point home in an instant because of it.
I do focus on quality when I make them, and I do like remaking well worded memes with better graphics and spelling mistakes corrected.

I admit I have the hardest time with this concept. I'm a wordy pede, what can I say? ;-) It takes me awhile to distill my message down to the shortest, most concise phrasing.

Affinity graphics products are comparable to Adobe, but they are a one-time price and NOT a subscription. They each have a lot of the functionality of their comparable Adobe counterparts (with more added all the time) but without the ridiculous price tag. There are lots of free tutorials out there as well to cut down on the learning curve.
