Electric Car batteries are designed to last up to 120,000 miles. Under really cold or very hot conditions, batteries will have shortened life. Some may only last 100k miles, while others may last 140k. However, they WILL fail.
Replacement cost for new batteries is anywhere from $15,000 to $18,000.
Congratulations. You now own a disposable car, which is more expensive to repair than its worth. It can't be sold and has no value.
Meanwhile, gasoline and diesel fuel cars have value up to 250,000 miles. They are resellable and repairable.
Guess what else, car insurance. I work in the field and the rates for electric are crazy. A fender bender will never be just a fender bender in a Tesla
If we are being honest, modern day gas cars aren't a ton better on the plastic front. So much of it is plastic now.
All the electrical sensors in the panels. Add tech = harder and more expensive to fix. Like all our engines now. You need a computer degree to be a mechanic now.
Bodies are aluminum - recycle Batteries are lithium, Cobalt, Copper, magnesium, copper and aluminum-all battery grade
There is a fortune in metals sitting there
True but it takes someone bold enough to see this potential.

There is opportunity here
I have a '98 Mazda b3000 (RWD sadly, but still good enough for my needs) with 272,000+ miles on It. it has some issues, but it still runs well.
that being said, I wouldn't mind genking the electric motors out of those EVs. I could come up with all sorts of things to use them for.
a semi can easily do 150k miles a year, was just wondering about how long one of those batteries will last and how much they cost to replace,

Fake and Ghey...

You believe fact checkers?? 🤣🤣
China or France - they have foliage growing up between them. Kinda of like a mothball fleet. “ Yeah we can sell em!” Car manufacturer did not reply for comment.🤣🤣🤣
a couple of problems with the fact check:
the cars in the circulated photo are parked almost willy-nilly, whereas the cars in the fact check photos are more neatly arranged.
the cars in the original are clearly parked on a wild area, with grass and plants grossing up around them. The AFP photos show cars sitting on a muddy field. This could be an earlier photo of course, but if so, why are the cars so haphazardly arranged in a seemingly newer picture?
Results: Inconclusive
There are some weird things here, but it could just be a photo of a different parking lot. Maybe the guy who manages one lot is a little more anal about keeping things straight and orderly than the manager of another.
Or they could be abandoned in a field.
Who the hell knows?
Seems like a pretty thorough investigation of the photo/meme, however, it still represents a massive graveyard of about 3000 nearly new vehicles literally put out to pasture. Does it matter whether it's China or France?
"Does it matter whether it's China or France?"
Yup...
Same as any False Meme. Ammo for "Lookie there at them Tin Foil Guys"
Just go for the TRUTH

Agreed. I just meant that the story is still shameful.
It does seem pretty obvious that someone intentionally labelled it as Paris in order to set up a debunk embarrassment.
Yup
Not that gay it's still a pile of worthless electric cars, per your link.
anyone able to tell what license plate is that blue plate there? would tell alot as to where this is. it does not look like a euro plate from france.
You are correct.
That is not Euro plates.
Unbelievable, what a waste
How many millions of dollars wasted? The government fucking sucks.
EV's are a toxic stew to break down. I suspect they will be loaded onto cargo ships and sent to 3rd world scrappers for breaking down. Places like China or India where there are zero laws against heaving old EV batteries into the ocean after recovering the metals.
Anyone here who spent their childhood playing outside and is allergic to bees responds to this photo with, “Hell NO!”
