I've always thought that many times, very small events can have much larger implications in this world. Yesterday (Monday) I had two encounters with people that had two very different larger meanings for me.
First, my wife and I were attending a fairly large regional Craft & Art Fair. Mostly jewelry, art in many different forms, crafts, etc. At one point I heard music being played on a hammer dulcimer and went to find it. Playing the hammer dulcimer was an old musical acquaintance that I used to play with several years ago, and she was playing modern tunes quite well and selling CDs. She's of the "aging hippy" demographic, left of center, but not one to hold grudges. She saw me and got up, came over to me and started to hug me, and she said, "Don't worry, I've had all my shots."
Oh boy, I just laughed, thinking, 'Maybe I should back away' but I didn't. She said the reason no one had seen her for awhile was that she had locked down in quarantine for many months.... blah blah blah... The level of woke-fear was strong. So I let her get back to hawking her CDs and and my wife and I had a chuckle over here "I've had all my shots" statement. I didn't have the heart to tell her what may be in store for her.
Second encounter: I am a long-time member of a 12-Step organization and after we got back from the craft fair, I went to my regular Monday night meeting. There was a new guy there, a tall, robust guy, long ZZ Top beard, in work boots and work clothes. I always make a point of greeting newcomers so I shook his hand and introduced myself to him. Turns out, he and his wife have two small children and were living in an area withing an hour's drive of NYC.
He told me that they could not raise their children in that cesspool and had visited Tennessee in the past and loved it. So they just moved here and he supported the family by working construction. I jokingly said, "Well, buy a couple of ARs and you'll be officially a Tennessean." He said, "Oh I brought mine, and they aren't even New York compliant."
We had a good laugh over that. Good rock solid citizen and I'm glad he's moved here.
So, two very different encounters, both of which encapsulate events going on right now in America. The fearful, compliant Left, fully vaxx'ed and boosted (and possibly dying) vs. a mobile common sense traditional family moving from a blue state to a red state in this critical moment in American history.
I found these two polar-opposites intriguing.
Thanks for sharing. That is an interesting contrast in people and attitudes.
It surely is
We have been gifted the greatest litmus test in human history. The efficiency at which I can cull relationships before they even start is remarkable. I feel like Sherlock Holmes. I wish I had some metrics for how much time I've saved like the ad blocking stats on Brave.
Quite right, thanks for that.
Just for edoocayshun purposes:
A phenomenon is the singular noun and some phenomena is the plural noun. So it's incorrect to write "a phenomena".
You spelled education wrong.
I know the difference, I just think the PHENOMENA is a multi-faceted thing with many, many different approaches, modes of thought, and reactions. So I used the plural form to reflect that.
Also, note that I didn't use an article with the word, as in "a" or "the," which would have indicated the singular form. Again, I meant to use the plural form.
What is this and how does it work?
Interesting...just had this same conversation with my wife this morning.
I'm praying for people who've bee asleep to come to us when the Truth is revealed but I'm so very afraid that many of my family and friend's brains will explode because it they are SO unprepared for what is coming! PRAY! 🙏
I'm always intrigued by those that have to tell you they had the shot! It's like a badge of honor or something! I just smile and walk away.
Thanks for sharing those vignettes.A snapshot of America, that fearful woman representing the dying past and the proud, sensible man representing the future.
Let's hope, but unfortunately, you have a large slug of people under the age of 40, who have been FULLY indoctrinated with leftist propaganda their entire lives. How many of them wake up in time for this election is critical.
I agree. It's the great unknown.
Will these people wake up to what is happening to the US and vote accordingly.
Will these people wakeup sufficiently so as not to interfere if and when the Military is activated to secure the Nation from Cabal interference.
We can only hope sufficient numbers of them do awaken.
I've seen that phenomenon in person, right in my own neighborhood, and an interesting factor in this is Faith vs. Fear. Literally. The ones who indulge in fear are the ones who watch TV all day and want the government to protect us from ourselves. If I introduce facts counter to what the man in the box has told them, they shut it down right away. The ones who have faith may also be tv watchers (usually Fox News, unfortunately), but they also know better than to take the brainwash box as Gospel and they trust that God will provide and see us through.
There are two realities where people live. The “Everything is fine” people live very comfortably in their reality. There is plenty to keep them living without truth: newspapers, books, tv shows, magazine, uninformed friends. They can go through the day believing their world is just fine, nothing to see here, and carry on as normal.
I think the DS works hard to keep their reality in a nice, comfortable, hum
Excellent post. Thank you for sharing.
Howdy, neighbor! I just moved to TN from TX!
Welcome, neighbor, glad to have you.
thank you, we love it! We're in Eastern TN, near Knoxville. My parents live here, so it's been really nice to be near them. Are you near the mountains?
Far west Knoxville. Far enough away from the city to not be affected by the crime there, but close enough to enjoy occasional concerts, plays, and music.
Gotcha! We're in Maryville. Feels like we're in Heaven. Absolutely love it. Gorgeous.
For many reasons, I think both of us are living in relatively safe areas, especially if TSHTF. Know your neighbors and stick together if it goes down.
Yes! I agree so much!
I'm glad the smart one of the two has kids.
Good point. The "aging hippy" gal never had kids, and really never had a stable, normal relationship. Over the years I've watched her drift from one toxic relationship to another, and no kids.
TN is pretty bomb. I'm in nashville area and am a contractor. With that being said, I meet so many people from out of state and all the people that can afford me are pretty hard right. The others that move here are usually rentals and younger, thus being hipster libs.
Honestly don't know, I didn't bring it up. She's free to think whatever she wants.
Thanks for these stories. It's always helpful understanding what ordinary people are thinking in the USA.
Great post. I enjoyed the read. Thank you.
"I've had all my shots" -- that's how people talk about their dogs
Thanks for sharing these stories love it! But be careful getting too close to triple / quadruple vaxxed drones. Vax shedding is real!
It’s amazing the width of the divide our culture is in right now. We are on the cusp of a revolution and, praise God, we already know who wins. We’re already seeing the tide shift and it has a helluva lot of momentum built up for when it swings back towards sanity.
Hopefully I'll be able to leave NYC before fall next year. Had a sideways promotion and it will go a loooong way to saving money to make the move. I'll probably go down to Charleston, SC as a good friend of mine moved down there early this year, so I'll at least have someone I know. His new friends seem to be based, as I went to see him in June. One guy even called the police a criminal organization, I was fucking shocked. I know they respect the police a hell of a lot more than up here, but they're losing the support of Trump voters, fast. Without us, they only have themselves, and that's all they really care about.
If you rat on your "brothers," you end up like Frank Serpico, left for dead in a bad place. The police are the standing army the Founders warned us about.
Good luck to you. Charleston is a very lovely place, but for me, it's way too hot in the summertime. I'm a mountain boy, so I guess that's why east Tennessee suits me so much.
I was on the beach for a few hours, and because I didn't use any kind of sun block (whether poison or homemade), I had some painful sun poisoning. Red all over, and my right leg from mid-calf to foot was swollen. It even hurt to walk.
