There were seven statewide races: the U.S. Senate and six judicial races, with two of those races being in the North Carolina Supreme Court, both won by Republicans.
“North Carolina Republicans swept all seven of the statewide races,” Andy Jackson, director of the Civitas Center for Public Integrity at the John Locke Foundation—an independent research institute in North Carolina that examines issues of freedom, personal responsibility, and limited constitutional government—told The Epoch Times.
The primary Republican victory for North Carolina Republicans was Trump-endorsed Republican Ted Budd, who beat former Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court Cheri Beasley for the Senate seat formerly occupied by Richard Burr, who didn’t seek reelection.
Budd was one of 126 Republican members of the House of Representatives who signed an amicus brief in support of Texas v. Pennsylvania, which was a lawsuit filed in the U.S. Supreme Court contesting the 2020 presidential election.
Republicans won every statewide judicial race, and they will have a 5–2 majority in the next session of the North Carolina Supreme Court, while expanding their current majority in the North Carolina Court of Appeals judges.
Republicans also flipped a half-dozen local sheriff races from Democrat to Republican, Jackson said.
Yup. I live here. And in two years we get a new Governor, a new attorney general and a new Secretary of State I predict our current Lt Governor, Mark Robinson, a solid Conservative will win.
Robinson is an absolute Rock Star...Could eclipse some of the others who are in the current news.
Moore is a dead man walking.
The Supreme Court was HUGE. Those idiots have been blocking the will of the people for years. Election laws are going to get put in place that will keep NC nice and red. A redrawn US House map will be nice as well.
Guess which state isn't blanketed by Dom/Smartm? My county does paper ballots. But also there was a yuge gotv effort, new precinct officers all over the place, LOTS of school mamas getting involved, Mark Robinson helping everywhere, and GEOTUS coming in several times.
But to the point of the state SCOTUS, having spoken a lot with the candidates for different levels of judgeships, the vast majority of cases are resolved in the appeals court system. We got those too, and unless something egregious happens, crazy cases won't pass. The solid core cases should, for definitive stick-a-fork-in-it sorry of stuff. Hoping that bad law will get scrutinized properly and dumped!
NC SC now needs to let the lawsuits implementing voter ID laws go through.
I live in NC and am very happy that my state and my county, including most of the local school boards, went solidly red. Also, Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is a conservative Christian rising star who would make a fantastic governor and future president, so if you don't live here and don't know him, get to know him now.
Check out his speech from the Trump rally in Wilmington a few weeks ago. The man's on fire. https://youtu.be/o9LVh5e9avQ
He's wonderful.
We need more people like him.
So happy to count him as my Lt Gov.
Wish he were Gov.
We will work together to make that wish come true pede!
Indeed. I want to get involved in his campaign. He's one of the few candidates in my lifetime I've truly believed in.
Just moved to NC and proud to have voted in the elections for a Win!
NC also has a super majority in state senate and 1 away from super majority in state house.
I live in NC as well. Thrilled to see some great conservative leaders come in!
Kinda strange ... seems that we got our asses kicked in PA and MI, but seem to be doing fine anywhere else there aren't Rats in charge of elections from top to bottom. It's amazing how those Democrats can isolate certain areas of the country from MAGA influence ... simply amazing ... oh how do they do that?
They start with globalist funding and corrupt the school system and the churches to feed disinformation and hate. Then they grow the unions, all communists. They make sure the inner cities are a cesspool of broken families and crime while propping up the people who blame everyone else, especially in the media which they also control tightly. Bring in limousine liberals who just know the darkies and poors cannot do any better and then they make sure it stays that way.
Then why the dems governor?
He got in after our former Governor got into a brouhaha over same sex bathrooms. It was all done to get rid of him.
In the end it was a close race but It was stolen for Cooper. It was a drop of ballots right after Election Day that solidified his win. And he won again in 2020 mainly due to the absentee ballots during COVID. And so did his cohorts: Our Secretary of State and our Attorney General. Along with one other Dem upper level state position. There were four at the top level positions. And they control all our elections.
Luckily, we still had a majority of Republican lawmakers who have passed laws to fix some of the election issues
Currently the voter ID law that was passed by the people here in a referendum vote on the ballot in 2015 is in litigation. With our new majority in the state Supreme Court I suspect it will eventually become law.
C-H-E-A-T... but it's a secret.
LOL, the most rhetorical question on GA.
