Why is anybody that has a different opinion considered a "doomer"?
What if Elon has not flipped? There are lots of red flags indicating that he is trying to control the narrative.
We should question everything. That is not dooming that is critical thinking. That is who we are.
Ordinarily I would concur. But the last time I exhibited even a scintilla of critical thinking and questioned a “popular opinion” I got banned for 3 days and called a Doomer. So I won’t do that again.
It is getting ridiculous. :(

Well stated and I agree. There is a narrative here and those that are not rah-rah with that narrative are attacked into silence, or worse yet, causing them to leave altogether. I worry that this internal censorship is having a deleterious effect on what was intended to be intelligent dialog based upon critical analysis and exchange of ideas in order to make sense out of the world and attempt to map out strategies for our future. The discussions here at times are no different than those that occur in the broader culture - thin skinned, shallow, and at times, meanspirited. This dog is about ready to run away, but I continue to stay in order to lend my expertise where I can contribute for the benefit of all. Part of me refuses to allow the naysayers to run me off. Lately this board has been too quick to bandwagon the latest thing without any digging or proof that the latest thing is solid and not just another half baked exaggeration that we wish were 100% true. I've been guilty of jumping in myself but I'm trying to resist.

And that's why I dislike socially taboo labels. The left use it to try and keep us in line, but our side does the same thing.
"Doomer" is BS, and always has been. Just like every label, it is way too widely applied for everything.
It's always amusing to be called a doomer by someone who has like 2000 imaginary engagement points on a ~140 day old account too.
Sadly we have our own snowflakes that are triggered by anything that attacks their paradigm. They have labeled it dooming. I miss VOAT.
Sometimes these are the same ones recommending the poster take a break when it comes off to someone just popping into the thread as being just the opposite. The one needing to take week off is not who they think it might be.

Ordinarily I would reply with my story of getting banned for calling Trumps Big Announcement a few weeks back a Nothingburger and that it was just gonna be his 2024 announcement run.
Then I would tell you about how I was told I was a Doomer, didn’t do my research, couldn’t point to facts to back up my statement and that I didn’t understand “THE COMMS” from his speeches and I was banned for a day…
Then I would tell you how I, with a level head asked why they automatically call any sort of critical thinking “dooming” to which they called me a deep state cabal and a Doomer THEN upped my ban to 3 days…
Of course two days later when my prediction of Trumps announcement being his 2024 announcement (thus vindicating me) I am, of course, unable to re-engage the Mod to discuss the ban.
So basically I got banned for not slinging hopium like everyone else. Which is very 1984-ish and smacks of Pre-Elon Twitter censoring on a platform supposedly fighting for free speech and the American way…

Well, it seems that he's hitched his horse to our wagon and pulling hard in the direction we need to go. Let's appreciate that and capitalize on it as long as it lasts. If he changes or does other 'woke' things in the interim, evaluate those as they come but as long as he's helping us, I say welcome. ** We're not marrying the man,** we just need his help to expose the DS and he's giving it to us in spades right now. (Same speech I gave to a family member about Trump when I was told that his 'mean tweets' and multiple marriages are why not to vote for DJT)

I generally agree that we should question everything, but reading the anon's post last night and there was something "off". It sounded like s/he was at the very end of a very frayed rope, going so far as to say something along the lines of "you patriots" are just like the sheep, the WH just like the cabal. The gist of the post was that we should not be waiting for the normies to awaken and that, by doing so, the WH were just as bad as the DS. Personally I don't believe we are waiting for the sheep to awaken and not be too upset by disclosures, never have believed this and have stated so several times.
The anon was lashing out at others here who are content to hold the line with optimism despite the ongoing horrors we all see around us. Nobody here likes what we're going through in this country and in the world at large. People are dying. People are getting hurt. Lashing out at your fellow anons who aren't lined up with your precise idea of how this war should be waged, the timelines, the strategies, etc is simply not helpful.
I was going to reply to the anon, but my eyes were swimming in my head by that time and I needed to sleep. It seemed uncharacteristic for this anon, felt like extreme frustration was being expressed. I don't always agree with what the anon espoused here, agreed with some things, but always respected his/her opinions. Last night (early this morning) was different and even the presentation of the post was not the usual clarity of thought I'm used to from that anon.
If s/he wants to return at some point I'm sure s/he will, but it's pretty clear it was time for him/her to take a break. This is horrible stuff we immerse ourselves in every single day. It takes it's toll.
You touch on an important point fren. The hard truth is that we are engaged in a war, and just like in a kinetic war, soldiers get tired and need R&R. We all need to take a break once in awhile and retreat from the front lines to recharge our batteries. Some of us have been at this for years. day in and day out, with no real cessation in the battle. The anon you describe sounds like they are suffering from battle fatigue. An anon that suffers from fatigue displays a fatalistic cynicism stemming from hopelessness. They are overwhelmed. Like you state, it is hard to be in these trenches everyday and not have it effect us in negative ways.
When I feel myself getting to the point of crossing a line into frustration that leads to an emotional "lashing out," that's when I know I need to step back. I pray all of us fighting this digital war recognize when it is time to get some R&R. There will be others to help pick up the slack. We are, like or not, in this together. We did not chose this war. But now that it has been thrust upon us, we will defend what we hold dear to the bitter end if necessary. Quitting is not an option. Thanks fren for your insights.

To be clear, I'm not trying to disparage the anon at all. As I said, I didn't always agree with everything the anon stated on this board over the years, opinions, perspective, etc, but I did agree with much of it, too. I respect everything s/he contributed. In the last post the anon seemed consumed by frustration, like s/he was screaming at a herd of sheep about to run over a steep cliff. I disagree with his/her premise for the frustration, but frankly, the post seemed to be coming from a place of concern and caring so I can't fault that. I'm praying the anon can take a break, regroup his/her thoughts, recharge his/her inner battery, find his/her mental/emotional balance, take a deep breath and. . . Get back in the battle.
None of this is easy. None of us knows what's going on behind the scenes by people who have all the facts and truth at their disposal. We're guessing and we're putting our faith and hope in others who we (cautiously) trust are on the side of Good. With the exception of shilly doomers, I've never minded others dooming. People need to let off steam. Just above this, u/mac1221 describes the battle fatigue perfectly. Time for a step back. I know I'm long overdue for one myself, recently stopped commenting for a few weeks, but never stepped away completely. I'm not pessimistic AT ALL, just very weary from looking into beasts and their beastly actions day after day for so long.
(Speaking of which, I have thoughts on your other point made here, but don't want to slide the post topic. Some other time).
Controlling our emotions is key.
We might very well be being led over a cliff or at least to the precipice. People are so happy that things are finally happening they are ignoring some major red flags. People are 100% sure Elon has flipped and anybody that tries to warn them that might not be the case gets attacked or called a doomer, etc. That is what concerns me the most. A lot of people here have gone from being leaders to being followers in the blink of an eye.
We have to look at the big picture and do it calmly and rationally. For instance. Elon is wearing a satanic-based costume in his profile picture. That is a fact. Satanists like to throw stuff in our faces. That is also a fact. But when I point these things out people say stuff like "he's doing that to taunt the cabal" or "the white hats are making him do that". Those are not facts those are theories. Then they build a whole story in their head about what is happening based on theories and the next thing you know they are so devoid of facts that you can't even have a conversation with them. It is very fascinating.
I don't know how this is all going to play out but I know we are going to win in the end. I just want it to be as painless as possible for all of us and in order for that to happen we need to be sharp-minded which means remaining calm and rational. Not blindly following a known liar and con artist because we assume he has flipped.
When I comment I say things like "it bothers me that" or "I get frustrated when" but to be honest I am calm as can be and have faith everything is going to work out. I should probably work on my delivery because people take me the wrong way a lot of times and call me a doomer and tell me to relax. Even the mods were telling me in PMs to go outside and take a break. lol. I meditate and do breathing exercises every day and have never been happier in my life.
This is an amazing time to be alive. :)

I am sure that your comments about the other anon proceeded from a place of genuine concern and in no way should be taken as disparaging. We are all entitled to our opinions and beliefs and should feel free to express them on this platform without worry about being attacked for them. Judging by some of the comments on this post, this is an area that needs some adjustment as of late to avoid the kind of self censorship that leads to the development of our own echo chamber masquerading as free speech.
You are right. We are all in need of a break sometimes. Along with you, I could use a time out myself and have stepped back a bit. Battles are won and lost along the way, but we must remember that we are in this war for the long haul. Therefore, we need to pace ourselves. This was never going to be easy and anyone that thought it was going to be wrapped up quickly with the occurrence of a few choice events was sadly mistaken. We truly are staring evil in the face. This is a spiritual war for the very soul of humanity. Thanks for your comments.
