From the article on Steve's substack:
"The medical experts I consulted believe that there is a high likelihood that Damar Hamlin was brain dead within 10 minutes after he dropped to the ground.
The primary reason for this conclusion is the 9 minutes of CPR. It is simply very rare for someone not to be brain dead at that point. Nobody I talked to has ever heard of such a case. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. It just means it is rare.
I pray that this is not the case, but I think we need to prepare for that possibility.
For example, there was no news from the hospital that his brain was still alive. This would have been uplifting news to the crowd of people waiting outside the hospital, but it was never delivered. There were no reports anywhere that Hamlin’s brain was still functioning. Why would they withhold this information?
There was also no news so far today. That is ominous."

Having had my child go through something similar (cardiac arrest outside of a hospital), I think that this analysis is completely wrong.
Estimate is that my child was in arrest for approximately 10 minutes before being found and CPR started. CPR continued until paramedics arrived. I don't know how long that was, but it seemed like an eternity and was probably for longer than 10 minutes.
After getting jumpstarted, it was off to the nearest hospital for stabilization before the airlift.
That there is no news is also not a surprise. It will likely be 72 hours before they try to bring him out of the coma because the doctors will want the brain swelling to be going down before trying to get him up.
In the meantime, there may be some signs of how things are going, but if I were a family member, I would not release anything. These signs would be from brain scans and heart rates.
Because the injury to the brain is caused by lack of oxygen, it is possible to be significantly disabled in spite of little to no damage being visible in a scan - the thought is that the damage is microscopic.
Assuming he survives, the only way to know how bad the damage is, is for him to wake up, which will be followed by years of intense therapy to maximize available function.
If the brain swelling cannot be controlled, he will die. If organs are to be donated, his body will be kept alive until suitable recipients can be found.
Based on the circumstances, I am hopeful that he will pull through despite the odds. If he is not significantly affected by the incident, it will be an absolute miracle.
I am very sorry for your experience with your child. Heartbreaking.
Please read the full article before saying the analysis is wrong. There may be some items that are quite different than your experience.
Don't know who would downvote you.
Could be a left handed phone scroller. My thumb accidently hits the arrows at least once a week. I usually catch it and go back.
Damn lefties lol!
I almost accidentally block someone trying to reply probably once every other week. The buttons are so small!
FBI shitbag lurker. Thats who. Scum bags.
Bots, probably.
I upvoted him and I think the dude was stone cold dead before he got to the hospital.
But what do I know?
Wouldn't it be great if he survived and became an anti-vax activist?
That would be awesome. He could save so many lives.
Possibly the hit (routine by NFL standards, but still an impact) could have loosened a clot that went to his brain? IANAD, but that has been my guess since it happened.
Its been mentioned tangentially in many a thread, but still worth repeating here:
Organs from the vaxxed likely have no value, except perhaps as a stop-gap transplant measure until more viable alternatives can be found, when instant death is the only other option. Moreover, for all we know they will constitute toxic and dangerous waste, not even fit to be buried. Recall the crashed vax-transport truck that had the military bought in to seal off all approaches and supposedly even the airspace until hazmat people could be bought in to clean up the spill.

When a person is placed on a vent, the criteria is 3 days of no brain activity to allow vent to be withdrawn. The 3 days feels like an eternity. I am soon sorry for this young man and his family. He was healthy and NEVER should have had to choose to receive vax to play.
I know plenty of old people that lives thru 10+ minutes of CPR. Thing is, they are old, much less muscle mass. High quality compressions thru the chest are possible.
In a young thick guy with muscle mass ( I don't know if they took his pads off) with possibly pads in the way, the quality of compressions would likely have been crappy. Leading to brain death.
Protocol says with a return of pulse and vitals he should have been put under cooling protocol at the hospital to protect the brain
CPR alone isn’t the key either, it’s oxygenation. If they were able to quickly gain an positive airway, that would improve his chances.
One of the scenarios sounds like an artery burst and CPR would do nothing but create internal bleeding. The oxygen couldn't reach the brain no matter how hard they pressed. When the pipes burst you lose all compression.
I read somewhere he was cut out of his uniform which probably included the pads.
If vessels were open and not full of clits.
🤣
I know, typos can be funny after all
I’m afraid your right. A Dr. on Tucker tonight said CPR is only getting 30% of the normal blood flow to the brain. 9 minutes of that doesn’t sound promising…..
They won't know brain function for 24+ hours. For cardiac arrest they will induce coma and hypothermia protocol. Then slowly warm the body. Not until he's rewarmed and stable can they take off sedation to assess neuro status. My guess is he will be seizing from the anoxic brain injury.
