Bannon spoke the quiet part out loud today
WHY NOT TRUMP?
He said let's get Trump in as Speaker. Think maybe that was the plan all along? It's what Killary and Co. feared the most. Maybe Trump supported McCarthy knowing he didn't have the votes to be speaker and took advantage of the optics. Would Trump have the votes? If not, he'd sure see who was truly against him in 2024. Imagine if Trump was Speaker and quarterbacked his core MAGA to investigate Biden and Kamala. Enough would be uncovered rather quickly that they would have to step aside and Trump steps into the WH as third in line to Presidency.
All this might sound far fetched but after the last 2 years, nothing would surprise me.
As of 20 minutes ago, Matt Gaetz nominated Donald Trump for Speaker!!
If Trump is actually nominated this would pull back the curtain on DC's Oz Bigly. Here's why.
It has become clear McCarthy doesn't have the votes. Everyone voting for McCarthy will eventually have to choose someone else. If it's Trump, Every Single Congressman and Congresswoman will have to vote and their political lives will depend on it.
If they vote against Trump, they will get the J6 treatment. Trump was nearly 100% in wiping them out.
Trump's endorsement record in 2022 was maybe 87% can't remember exactly. If that percentage holds true, there could be a massive Wipeout of the uniparty, RINO, members of the RNC. They could be absolutely annihilated. A political nuke bomb.
u/#pepenuke
They'll be ripped from their homes and families without legal representation, beaten, humiliated, and thrown into a filthy dungeon to rot for years in solitary confinement between torture sessions?
Great, bring it on.
Well, I meant they would resign or be primaried, but you make some good points!
He's always ten steps ahead. He really is a stable genius.
Got dam.
If that were the plan why didn't the group of 20 vote trump the first time? Why wait until the 7th vote?
To demonstrate what a weakling McCarthy is and embarrass him over and over. Maybe it will go to 17 votes, and then they'll switch gears?
I doubt it. I think it's inevitable McCarthy gets the votes eventually. Maybe not today but eventually.
Maybe so it doesn't look like a Trump coup. Same reason he says shit like Biden will be president until 2024. Maybe it's true and that is the plan, but if not the reason would likely be to separate himself from what happens.
Same thing here. Make it look like it's not just a Trump plan to take the speaker position. Make it look like the Reps looked around for a viable candidate before eventually centering on Trump.
If the goal is to avoid a civil war, having Trump appear to overthrow the "rightful" government is not going to achieve that. If he looks like he stumbled back to the presidency through sheer dumb luck, a civil war may be avoidable.
I mean, what would a civil war in 2023 even look like? Personally, I think it's avoided either way. Nobody wants a civil war except the far lefties and members of the uniparty who hid behind concertina wire at the capitol building.
Because he had to make sure enough people DIDN'T vote for McCarthy for speaker, to ensure he didn't get the job. Then he watched to see who the RINOS were. NO WAY IMO that he and Gaetz and yes, MTG, aren't in this together.
Ok, that might be true by why on the following vote (the one that just concluded) nobody voted Trump this time?
A guy from Florida or Georgia Put this out over a year ago..... I also think that DJT responded to M.Gaetz and said "That is not my Preference" or "That is not the Plan" or something to that effect....
You are correct. Trump shot it down before. However, as the battlefield changes who knows what he would say today? If the unverifiable sources that confirmed Trump would do it are accurate, perhaps he would.
I'm looking forward to seeing Trump comment on it directly on TS. I'm pretty sure he will. He's gonna love the limelight it provides.
Don just reTRUTHED this just now... a meme of him in the speaker chair behind Biden. Lol

Edited: it's not a retruth, it's a fresh one :)
MMM first impression.. How could you resist a right handed backhand at full arms length???
Secondi... I could see DJr. as Bannon's handler....
You think Trump would telegraph a move like this that far in advance?
I am more apt to think, particularly given the role that Bannon has been playing, (DJT: He was fired, x, x, x, .....) That this is a "pinch the left's elbow nerve and send the out of their minds while something else happens" move.
I don't think a person even has to be nominated for Speaker.
It was my understanding that members of the House were free to vote for whoever they wish (as long as that person were legally allowed to be Speaker, of course).
All they have to do is vote for them.
You are correct. When you look at the vote counts, the names include the people nominated, others, and present. Until Trump is actually nominated, he will not show up as an official choice.
The fine line I am seeing is that a formal nomination is just that. It puts the persons name on the ballot. Trump's name being on the ballot is a bigger deal than just being an option in the "other" category.
Can a politician win via "write in" on a ballot, yes. Do they have as good of a chance as a person actually on the ballot? Probably not.
In my personal opinion, if Trump is officially nominated and on the ballot for Speaker of the House, it will put every member of congress on record on whether they voted for Trump or McCarthy.
If McCarthy can't win after 9 tries, and then all of a sudden members have to choose between McCarthy and Trump, and they choose McCarthy, then in my opinion, their political careers are over at the end of the term.
The reason I say this is because in the 2024 primaries, for every single member that is ON RECORD voting for McCarthy over Trump, they will have a giant RINO badge to wear. Trump will know Exactly who is with him and who is against him, and his endorsements will reflect this. With Trump's 87% or higher? endorsement win percentage, the members that vote against him will have signed their political death warrants, much the same way the J6 Committee Republicans were destroyed. Best case scenario, we could see 200 or so RINOs wiped out in one election cycle.
Ok. I understand what you mean now. Thanks for taking the time to explain it for me. And I agree. Having his name on the ballot would give him a much better standing than as a write in.
LOL this one has been extra painful for them.
Think about this scenario:
Trump becomes SOH. So he sits behind biden as resident gives SOU speech. PDJT moves papers around. Acts like he might tear it up.
Then carefully lays the papers out and looks into cameras and smiles. Pure gold.
I know. Wouldn't happen. I can dream.
You are right
None of this scenario will happen
The look on MTGs face was priceless when he did!
I thought she had a wry smile and while I can't lip-read at all well, I think she said "Bold move".
I’m sick of Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘s perfidy. She was blacklisted by Pelosi in the last session. now it looks as though she wants to make it two for two!
Not a bit of enthusiasm on the floor when they read the count. I wasn't watching for the reaction when the nomination was made. Was there any support?
Only heads exploding.
No shit.
Heavens…..😳
They've all been able to vote for Trump for Speaker since the first go around. This is, what? The 8th vote? And the first time anyone bothered to vote for Trump?
Maybe now that Gaetz has broken the silence on it, more and more members will vote for Trump?
This is going to be the election that never ends.
