I just read that McCarthy has caved to demands from the holdouts. Possibly he caved because Trump signaled it's time to cave. My theory on all this has been that Trump has dirt on McCarthy (Hence Trumps endorsement - McCarthy is controlled by Trump via blackmail) and all this has played out to give the DS the impression that McCarthy is only giving into the demands because that was the only way for them to get their guy (KM) as the speaker.
