Some products are not so good for blocking the pings. Do your own research on this. The best way to maintain privacy is to leave your smart phone at home..... or toss it for good like I did years ago.
I'm not well informed on 'burner phones' except for in the movies. I think one has to provide all their personal info including proof ssn and so forth. Ditch the phone. leave it at home. It's a lot easier
Thanks, I learned something here and as you indicated I guess cash can be used after all for a burner phone. I imagine there are many other difficulties in overcoming the anonymous purchase of a burner phone though. Store cameras are one factor that can be used to identify the purchaser. I'm sure there are others, but all of this seems to be really 'complicated' and 'messy' in comparison to just leaving the cell phone at home. This is just my personal opinion though. I've been without a cell phone for over 5 years. I haven't ever once regretted the move. I am truly free and liberated from distractions. I'm enjoying the real world as I want to.
I've used one for a few years and they're awesome if you get a good one. You will likely have to replace it after a while so test it often. I got mine after seeing a video where cartel members saw the Mexican military closing in on them via their cell phones and they ambushed them and killed them all. Since then, SWAT teams and other law enforcement have started using these.
Thank you for the reminder I keep meaning to get one ,,, what I’d like to do is go back to life with out an iPhone ,, reminder to self !!!
Thank you again
Yep I got one for my phone when I would go to work, some relatives of the owners got permission to set up what we thought was a Crypto mining operation, later find out they’re essentially using the system to aid Amazons AWS, after I learned that I tightened up. The system has since been removed so I haven’t the bag in a while, but great to have around just in case!
I remember when phones first came out a network called Orange would not charge you for calls if the call dropped mid call. A marketing gimmick, but easy to game, just make your call and then put the phone in a petty cash money box and shut the lid - call drops, free call thank you very much.
Ok maybe I have no time dea what I'm talking about but I thought faraday bags were for EMP protection. Can't you just turn off your phone if you want to be incognito?
I believe they can still track your phone passively like with an RFID chip. They have been working on perfect location for years because they want to be able to send you coupons or offers on things you're walking past, even in the grocery store
If your on a budget you can also use aluminum foil. It will be just as effective for blocking GPS and you can shape it to fit a pant pocket.
Pretty easy to block GPS signal even driving through a forest or a cloudy day can severely degrade the GPS signal.
Things like this product and aluminum foil are not a cure all though. As technology marches on, the chips and signals get stronger in phones and in scanners. For signals like the NFC (Near Field Communication), If close enough even with the whole roll of aluminum foil there is a chance information can still be transfered.
Does it work as advertised? I bought an 'RFID shielded' wallet and with my ID badge I can still get in the door at work by tapping the sensor with my wallet.
The only way to ensure there is no location data is to not locate the phone at the location. If you need a cell there get an old one with a removable battery. or a burner with a prepaid sim and dont call family, friends etc on it.
I've read all the alternatives, get a flip phone, don't have a cell phone etc. BUT, My wife can't use a cell phone for her Real Estate business. google maps has saved her from going into bad neighbor hoods and from getting lost and this is just the beginning of how she relies on the damn thing. So this might be a sort of good substituent that she would use. So,,, I will look into it.

thats what im saying, cell phones are overrated lol
This is unnecessary. A burner phone is better. Leave your real phone at home. That way you can say your were at home. Check my phones tower data lol.

If faraday cages really thwarted spying. They'd be illegal to own.

How about if you use your phone for directions and arrive nearby before the phone goes in the bag? Seems like leaving it at home is safest.
Yep. Get a burner.

Or when you're a criminal, busy stuffing a drop box. Or murdering someone.
Seriously, they look like a good thing to acquire.
