The Oakland Fire Department tweeted that the outage was caused by a fire at a PG&E substation near 50th Avenue and Coliseum Way in East Oakland. The fire ignited around 1 p.m. and a spokesperson from the fire department said when firefighters arrived on scene, they found a "transformer actively burning inside the yard."
Pretty sure all of our transponders are made China. So every time damage occurs we rely on them entirely to replace it. One blew in my town and it took 3 days to replace because βit was being shipped from Chinaβ.
THIS. Some people donβt understand that 54k outage is kinda mundane. An issue at one substation could cause this and could be fixed within an hour. Not saying this isnβt news, but the 54k number is nothing out of the ordinaryβmuch less βmassiveβ.
Might be a good time to head on over to your local car dealership and check out a new electric car and save the planet from climate change

Good thinking! I'll just take public transportation cuz I'm minimizing my carbon footprint. πππ
Wait a sec.....why won't the gates open when I scan my transit pass? And why is it so dark and smell EXTRA pissy today?
And if like oz, they're now bragging of electric public transport

This is NOT a good city to handle a prolonged power outage.
This crime ranking aggregates crimes committed in a city and quantities the city on a scale of 1 to 100.
One is the lowest while 100 is the highest. Based on this metric,
Oakland is a high crime area and around three times more dangerous than the rest of the US.Nov 22, 2022
Maybe a little cleanup can happen.
Any word if the local peaceful jogger population will be liberating their reparation's from local stores?
But I need to charge my EV to get to work π€£π€£π€£

54k is "massive?"

54K in OAKLAND for a prolonged period is massive. It's like Chicago having an outage.
