The two front runners are Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson.
Brandon Johnson, No. 2 (20%), is a big teachers union guy. Vallas (33%), No. 1, is considered a "conservative Democrat" (as if). But he is pretty pro-police and the police union is very much behind him. My concern is that the 16% that voted for BeetleJuice are probably going to vote for Johnson, not Vallas. AND they are already prepping with news stories that "we may not know who the winner is" on election night in April.
Lightfoot lost the election because the Deep State wanted her out. They tossed her in the trash like a used condom because they were done with her. She was sent to torture and degrade the city of Chicago and she did her job well. The Deep State is moving on to new tactics of ruin and degradation.
Like Jane Byrne she will disappear into history. Only she didn’t even get to leave a great party legacy like Chicagofest. She left nothing and will be completely forgotten.
Oh, I don't know about 'completely forgotten'.... my guess is her name will be invoked in the context of "This (insert FUBAR situation here) hasn't been this bad since the days of Lightfoot."

Mainly because the Republicans didn't put forth a candidate in that city, thinking it is a lost cause.
From now on, if there is not a Republican candidate running in your area, be that candidate. Don't let them have victories for free.
