If he can be "productive" why is he taking up space in a psych ward? You don't go inpatient unless you are struggling day-to-day. He should be outpatient and free up the spot for someone who truly needs it.
Correct. Just visited a psych ward (actually a standalone acute mental health care facility, not a ward attached to a regular hospital); patients had no wristbands. Visitors had to wear a badge ... don't lose it!
