I'm one of the few non-emasculated guys at the place I work and I regularly get people coming to me for help with shit I don't even work on or with and I ask them why and the answer is always "because you seem like you know what to do" or some variation thereof instead of the people they should be asking for help.
The shit is instinctual. They don't understand that they have less trust in the other leads because they're soyboy-esque and weak. Not trying to toot my horn or anything, just regularly occurring theme that I started noticing and then I started paying attention to the other leads and was like "maybe this is why."

I completely agree. A man that can defend me and our kids if he needs to is very attractive. A man that can provide for us is very attractive. I see men with loafers and skinny jeans pushing a stroller with a diaper bag over their shoulder and think... what the heck? How did that woman think he was a good one to have a family with???

This reminds me of a story I read about a young Mormon man who was raised in Texas on a ranch and was used to doing outdoor things and using his body physically for chores and caring for animals and was involved in sports and was a fairly muscular and masculine young man. He had a work-related (I think) extended visit to Utah and while there, met up with some of the local Mormons for worship and social things.
He noticed that the Mormon males in this community were much weaker and less athletic-looking than himself and those back home. In social settings, the married Mormon women would sit up and take notice of him and stare in a manner that seemed both confused and interested. Then, there would be a glance at their own wimpy husbands as if to wonder why this new guy looked so different.
The takeaway was, that any normal hetero female will notice and prefer a strong, manly man, and will recognize when one is in their presence.

That's why bare-kuckled boxing was the better sport. No smart fighter punched anyone in the jaw or head as you most likely just broke your hand doing so, and weren't going to be able to fight again for quite some time.
Back then it was all body punches and good defense strategy, you were going to go a lot of rounds trying to wear the other guy down instead of trying to go for a knockout and possibly hurt yourself.
