Since about 2015 the internet has become more ephemeral - posts and content slides by in an irreversible unrecoverable stream. Back in the day a repository lasted, with info on serious topics archived for reference. You get that less now, it just pops up and goes.
I just did a search for the word garbage. Search functions seem to work just fine because it brought up your post, OP. I feel rather strongly about somebody bitching about how the search function works on a site that they probably don't pay a dime to use, hence my post about looking a gift horse in the mouth. That is all.
When you search: ”Joe Biden” you won’t find any post with ”Joe fuxxxng Biden” because it doesn’t search each word separately. It only finds the exact text you used.
Same when you search for ”injur” when you want to find both: ”injuriy” and ”injuries” - it will show 0 results.
T.S., I hope this helps clarify what I think OP is having issues with. If you do a search for "Search functions seem to work just fine" you'll get zero results using the search bar on this site.
I would volunteer to do tagging of posts to help make them findable. I am a Librarian and this site drives me nuts. But then most of the internet does.
Thank you that is good. That is why people complain about the search on this site, it only pulls from titles. We all know how bad 50% of the titles are, nothing of use could ever be pulled from them later.

I search for terms and keywords on this site I get no results. I search the same way on /pol/ archives along with other websites and get results.

It's by design. Prevents the glowies from searching for posts
Use yandex. You can do very well to search old GAW posts on it.
