Yes and it also takes a lot of bandwidth to stream camera info. It seems like they wouldn't bother. With how phone tech works someone could get camera access pretty easy. So I have invested a few cents in tape, apparently my system has recently failed. It seems like the tape only lasts a few weeks.

Somewhere out there exists the largest most globally comprehensive database of pooping faces. We're probably all in it. :)
I think my phone uses its front camera to detect the level of ambient light to determine how intense to make the backlight. If this is true, I wonder if those images are saved or transmitted after they've been used to set the brightness. Could be easy to test.

I went through this exact same thought process two days ago when I decided to just put a piece of black duct tape over the front-facing camera.
