There will always be Luddites. They will always be wrong. Improving tools always results in increased productivity and increased productivity always results in more employment opportunity.
Absolutely. Smart, logical people will be able to use AI to better society
It is high time power is returned to the people. This means the establishment must be broken. No more white/blue collar, no more useless jobs, no more red tape, no more forced indoctrintion (college) and most importantly
No more basing one's existence, pride, reason, and purpose on work whether you call it a job or a career
the current available yet repressed tech - would provide heat, food and shelter for all humans in this realm. the job concept is about to be OUTDATED -
All I know is that I suck at drawing & art, I suck at computer programming, I suck at music and can't play a single musical instrument. If AI can do all that for me and allow me to direct its efforts, I am good with it. All the things that I can do are unaffected by AI, at least for the time being. When it finally gets to the point where you can direct AI to help create electronic circuits and design mechanical drawings and have CNC equipment manufacture prototypes for test and evaluation, it will be awesome and turn weeks or months of work into hours or days. The same potential for good also exists for evil, it merely depends on whom the wielder is. This is simply another marvelous tool that augments human creation.
Ideally that thing of value is something specific which incorporates one's unique gifts and talents, like technical expertise or art.
Those things can take time to develop, so it would be a good idea for everyone to have a few ways of creating value that are more mundane.
Grow vegetables, raise livestock, learn woodworking. There are ways which are accessible to nearly everyone.
There will always be Luddites. They will always be wrong. Improving tools always results in increased productivity and increased productivity always results in more employment opportunity.
Bring on the tools.
I am an elevator operator. I OPERATE ELEVATORS, I TELL YOU!
I just deliver phone books, sniff.

Imagination and innovation are the new currency. No more red tape. No more lawyers.
Lawyers gone! Make it so!

AI is a hard no for me.
With evil entities running big tech, pharma, and governments, AI won’t be used for creating value for humanity. It’ll be used to enslave humanity.
You're not going to have much choice. The AI will touch almost everything you do, even if you think you're not using or interacting with AI.
Until then, no thanks. I’m not gonna help usher it in either.
Bill Gates Internet of Everything enters the chat:
Yeah, what could possibly go wrong? /s.
I see your on board the advancement train.
The tech nerd part of me is beyond psyched. The logical side of me is more then a little concerned about potential effects and ramifications.
But humans are good at adapting. So I suppose it’s largely moot as we’ll adapt and deal with the problems as they arise..
yeah, out in space 4 arms with hands are much more useful than 2 arms and 2 legs

Just saw this article that Dinesh D'Souza posted. https://dcenquirer.com/ready-for-robots-at-the-register-walmart-announces-that-majority-of-its-stores-will-be-automated-by-2026/?utm_source=89385
I've said in other comments that my experience with it agrees with you. But we both know it won't stay long that way.
AI smashes the accelerator to the floor
But we will direct them, and consume them. Unless AI starts watching its own stuff, LOL
As VeggieTales proclaimed "In the future, entertainment will be randomly generated"
As it is now AI generated art has very visible imperfections
I seriously doubt Human-made media will ever become obsolete
