WINNING: Texas Teachers to Get $25,000 Extra for Carrying Guns on Campus to Protect Students in New Proposed Bill
Austin, Texas is the latest battleground for a new bill aimed at enhancing school safety measures in the state. Texas House Bill 13 proposes to provide up to $25,000 stipends to public school emplo…
Why is this a good idea? Over dedicated security or police?
No offense to all teachers, but let’s not fool ourselves, the forefront of the attack on our children is happening in education, some of the most fanatical BLM/Antifa/LGBTQIA’s are teachers. Hardly the types you want to arm up.
I’d say mental health and history screening for all applicants, but dysphoria is no longer classed as a mental illness and antifa doesn’t exist.
It's a GREAT idea.
You take the "shooting ducks in a barrel" away from the criminal. They would have no idea if the next classroom they entered would have someone protecting the children. There is a REASON these people shoot up a school that's a "gun-free zone" because they are cowards.
An armed society is a polite society.
While I do understand your stance, and wish to agree with it, I do have concerns with whom the majority of teachers are..
Just look at how easily they caved to teaching critical race theory; a theory that blames every social issue on "white people and their privilege." There's also "gender ideology" being groomed to children to confuse and push them mutilate themselves.
Alot of teachers nowadays shouldn't be within 500 yards of a school, letalone a classroom. Arming those teachers, while it will strike fear into a school shooter, I feel this isn't the right time for that push. Hell, these same teachers wouldn't clear the "red flag gun laws" they wish to impose on everyone...
There's too much cancer in the current "education" system to arm teachers themselves, in the future when the cancer has been removed, yeah I can be for armed teachers. But with the state of the world as it is, I think armed security guards (vets come to mind) is a good place to start until such cancer is removed.
This is my point others missed. I’m all for an armed presence at school, but we have systemic mental illness throughout our schools. No shortage of lunatic teachers caught on video.
There should be strict screening, and pro 2A training, to limit activist teachers getting the job.
It is a good idea because crazies always go to GUN FREE ZONES.
Lol…even the most ardent anti-gun moron will find this hard to resist!
I don't want the anti gun morons to carry guns in schools.
You know they'll put it into the hands of some violent leftist who will sacrifice themselves to make a national incident about this.
We'll see if the world folds when that inevitably happens, or if people will stick to it.
I hope not. These kids need to be protected.
The shop teacher!
Frankly, teachers have their hands full dealing with the students. I would do security personnel, maybe teacher's aides (if well trained), maybe administrators (if well trained). Better yet, shut down the schools and do all home schooling and home school co-ops.
How many men vs woman do ya think? If you were a group of teachers voting on who you want with weapons defending the rest how many would vote for the dude over the woman?
Hmmmm
I wouldn't want compensation for newfound "privilege" of being able to exercise my constitutional right. I also wouldn't want a big paper trail or large public knowledge in the school body of the same.

$25000 more of taxpayers money.
Because property taxes aren't high enough already.
Let's say a school has 50 teachers. Times $25,000. That's $1.25M just to carry around a gun and maybe never use it. I think that $1.25M could go to a well armed deterrent squad on campus.
Remember a few things. First, this is Texas. Most of the state (minus a few blue areas) are very used to guns, a majority of people have them, and nobody bats an eye if they see someone in a store with a scary fun strapped to their waist. Personally I won't open-carry. My goal is to protect my wife and family - not be the first target, but to each his own.
When I was first starting to conceal carry I went to a local gun shop in Central Texas (actually a woman-owned gun shop) to get help on holsters. A constable was hanging out there just chatting and he went through a whole bunch of options with me until I found the best method that worked for me. That was pretty cool of him.
Second - I believe it is likely that there are more teachers in TX that are patriots versus blue-haired wokesters. Especially in the rural areas and regions like East Texas. When I moved to ETX from CenTex I noticed a big difference. We don't have the California/Austin influence out here.
And finally it will likely be mostly men that will choose this option however there will be women with that mama-bear instinct that will take part as well. I'd guess 80/20 men but it could be 70/30 as well. For those worried about the women - they won't enroll in the program if they know they won't be able to make the decision. I have no doubt any woman that does carry will do her job if necessary without hesitation. She will protect her kids.
If you're worried about the freaks arming up - remember they will have to pass all the background investigations, training programs, and will still have to be approved by the administration. Texans are serious about their guns and firearm safety. In the areas I mentioned above this won't be a problem. If you don't live in Texas I can understand why you won't get this though.
100%...👍😎
Isn't is most of the teachers are lefty? How it is winning?
If we can't trust them to carry a gun, we can't trust them to be with our children.
Makes sense. The bois didn’t specify that our rights (to bear arms) were limited. They’re not!
Is there a place to donate to help the teachers buy guns?
Pretty sure you can buy a decent gun for $25,000
Agreed, but in this case,it truly is the thought that counts,at least to those teachers on the fence about carrying.
Id get this and mount it to my desk.

Start to set up Student-assigned crewed weapons-stations.
'Billy and Joann gets to man the mortar seats for this semester.'
I only support this if teachers are enthusiasts and actively qual7fy and train. Otherwise bad idea to give teachers union guns, it makes them even mire dangerous
There are going to be some well behaved students in Texas.
