Covfefe was an Arabic google translation inside joke among Arabs. Remember, this happened while Trump was visiting Saudi.
When put in the google translater arab to english, covfefe translated to "I will stand" in english. And the arab letters, when translated back to english translated or sounded like if read "so fuck off".
so, what trump said is "Despite the constant negative press, I will stand. So fuck off".
When this went public and started making the interwebs, google scrubbed it from it's translator.
I researched this one hard when I woke up several years ago. This commenter is correct.
Also, Trump posted the comment at around midnight (midday for SA). When TPTB took down the google translate results overnight, it highlighted the information war we're in, and Trump posted the next morning something like, "Covfefe, who can know what it means?"
That was definitely what some people were saying at that time. I'm posting a Snopes link not because I believe it, of course, but it tries to counter your claims-

I ran it through the google translate myself and got EXACTLY what I stated.
This is a "symbol" that has been fully decoded already.
It is as I told you it was. I know this absolutely and without any doubt. Because I saw it with my own eyes. typed it in with my own fingers.
And I was paying attention as it got scrubbed.
My point is what you're saying what people were saying at the time.
The proof of that is Snopes tried to debunk those claims.

It was a bill authored after the Tweet by a Democrat Congressman trolling Trump by naming the bill after the "typo."
This bill was introduced sometime after Trump deleted his tweet to both prevent items from disappearing like his tweet and to mock him.
There's also a theory that it could be related to a magnetic material as an attenuator for 5G frequencies. Cobalt-Vanadium-Iron-Iron. Right as WaWei was getting kicked out of the US telecom arena.
