I think that is the only picture I have seen on Brandon and a world leader in the Oval Office. He is there so little. Usually, there are a ton of pics of a president there.

Wow - I didn't realize the woman PM was gone but it looks like a conservative party beat the one-term leftist party lady a month or so ago. Originally Finland said no NATO bases. Must be the new guy's decision.
The fiscal conservative party NCP is the most pro-NATO party in Finland but it was decision of the last government to join NATO. I believe Finnish president however is the one that is negotiating this because foreign policy is his responsibility. New government haven't even started working yet but it will be the most right-wing government of Finland since 1930s with NCP, the anti-immigration party The Finns, the Christian Democrats party that is pretty conservative in religious issues and Swedish People's Party as support party to get majority in parliament.

It's amazing that people don't see it. I tell people the same thing. Why are we not trying to broker a peace deal? Why are we sending weapons to encourage a war? Why would we want to risk a nuclear war with Russia? They're dumbfounded and will go on about how bad Putin is for starting this, and he needs to be stopped. The brainwashing is still very strong.
We are very lucky to have a fren in Finland.
The Finns and the Russians have a history of battle don't they. I remember the story of the famous Finnish sniper who used to lie in the snow for days waiting for the right moment to kill Russian soldiers. The one who got shot in the jaw and survived.
How do Finns feel now? The only Finn I ever knew was of mixed Finn/Russian heritage.
I have very dear Finnish friends here in America. They've been here for 30 years, came to be Americans, not turn America socialist. MAGA. They invited us over to their farm to celebrate Finland entering NATO. He gave us a history lesson, pointing out how afraid Finland has been of poking the bear. This has been long-awaited. I didn't interject on their day of celebration that things have changed. But they are coming to a sausage roast at my farm this week, so I'll open up that discussion. Russia has been the wolf for so long I can understand it being difficult to reframe that, even though they are awake.

Finland's part of NATO now. One of the stipulations of being inducted into that club is that the U.S. gets to put our military in their countries. This single act alone won't bring WWIII, though.
It's gonna take a lot more than opening up new bases in foreign lands.
You mean they are going to allow "What's left", of our military. I'm sure the thought of going toe to toe with the world's gayest forces, has the Russians trembling in their boots.
