Instead, JFK called Russia's bluff in front of the entire world. It was actually the cabal's bluff, which they never expected to be challenged. Great argument...except for the fact that the timeline is inverted. The U.S. prepositioned Thor IRBMs in the UK in 1958, and Jupiter IRBMs in Italy and Turkey in 1959.
