Day 1 of me spending nothing and being happy.
💥 THIS IS THE WAY. 💥
I have zero active subscriptions, digital or otherwise going into June. Not eating out at all either. With three freezers full of meat, bread to last the month, and milk restocked ahead of time, the only likely out of pocket expense for me in these 30 days will be fuel. I prepaid any bills for utilities and whatnot, so my transactions for this month should literally be zero.
This will be a fascinating experiment on just what I can in fact live without regardless.
Good for you. I love it. When I was 30, I paid off the line of credit that I carried with me all through my 20's and became addicted to not spending. During the lockdown I kicked it into high gear and was basically only making purchases every 2 weeks or so. No fast food, no junk food, no useless purchases. I hope you find it as satisfying as I did.
On a side note, I believe that since our vote is a joke and our governments are corrupted to the core, the greatest real power we yield is where and how we spend our money. We actually have more power than we realize. When I hear about which company to boycott next I know it will not affect me because I know for a fact they are already not getting a cent from me. Our society is addicted to spending because it has been ingrained into them with advertising since birth. Unplug from it all and people may realize that increasing their personal wealth is much more satisfying than having that useless piece of Chinese garbage delivered to their doorstep every day by Amazon.
From time to time here is very useful knowledge posted. One can't stress enough this:
You are SO on target. Expect the glowies to show up in 3...2...1...
I applaud this. Now,if we could all disabuse ourselves from credit cards, that would be the start of a paradigm shift to reality, it would cripple the cabal acutely. We could eat without spending a dime on food for a month, I still have to pay the phone and electric bill for June. I do little retail shopping, "use it up, wear it out, do with or do without" has been the motto of this household for 3 decades. Putting savings into silver or gold, not the bank. I get paid 2x a month, and from that, I make sure to spend 400 a month on silver, I squirrel it away, and do not touch it unless I need something (like a new car) and I can buy that with cash, from the savings. Sure, I will never own a cabin cruiser, but, I do have a 12 ft boat with teeny put put outboard. It floats as good as anything on the lakes, and sitting in the middle of a lake at sunset, fishing for poor mans lobster (perch), certainly makes me feel rich and blessed. I say, disengage from the corruption any way you can, your wallet has more power than your vote.
Star... Keep us up to date on how you are doing. Well done, my boy. I am doing something similar but not as organized as you are.
I'm pretty sure somewhere around day 16 I'm gonna realize I fucked up my calculations somewhere.
That's ok - just adjust and shoot for no-spend July.
I have always been thrifty, and my wife cooks good! We went out for our Anniversary in May, so easy to not eat out. My wife prefers her own cooking of Filipino foods as well.
My only subscription is for a Karaoke prg.
I'd plqnned on paying bills ahead in June, but will just wait until July.
Been doing that for the last 2 years except only 2 freezers. Don’t forget to stockpile extra fuel for the generator, in my case I can always use in the lawn mower so won’t go stale.
TOPIC: Custom octane fuel blends & fuel storage for 24 months
PURPOSE: Balance 87 octane and 91 octane fuel reserves for generator and car, respectively.
RESULTS:
70%/30% mix of 91/87 octane works in Premium required vehicle without triggering the fuel injector sensors. STP octane booster used with full tank. 1/2 of the tank is 100% 91 octane and the mix is the other 1/2, then octane booster applied to whole tank. No issues.
Fuel successfully stored for 2 years and then used by adding Stabil fuel stabilizer at 2oz per 5 gal. Fuel not used was refreshed with 50:50 mix new to old and new 2oz of stabilizer (and moved to front for first usage ASAP).
NEXT TEST: 70/30 mix without octane booster to see if fuel injector sensor gets triggered.
I'm playing with this to manage my fuel reserve, but also now doing some distillation and may attempt to do small scale refining experiment to learn how the refining process works and add some focused Chemical Engineering skills.
Good info and topic.
Moonshiners back in the day used to distill ethanol and cut it into gas back during the depression to extend their supply as well.
A still is a good thing to have.
And then there is also the method of melting petroleum based plastics back into crude and refining and separating it. It’s not to complicated to figure out.
Hopefully it’s just a matter of riding it through for a short period and doesn’t require these more drastic measures to obtain fuel.
but either way Necessity is the mother of invention.
Would love to hear your results of the distilling and refining when you get to it.
Ty for encouragement. It is much appreciated. Moonshiners had mad skills back in the day because most farmers were making their own tractor fuel. Before Prohibition 90% of refined fuels made by farmers and individual family groups. After Prohibition 80% of refined fuels controlled by globalist corporations. That was the play.
Time to reverse it a tad...or at least relearn how to do it. Lots of independent, local refiners going to be needed to support local farming and make food supply chain shorter, imo.
Funny this topic just came up. I just woke up to power out, just started the generator. Yesterday did a fuel run to replace what was used by the mower so that’s good. Strange that the power is out in three spread out spots. No bad weather to blame. About 5000 total houses out. Unusual to get power outages this time of the year in my area. I just did a generator check 2 days ago to make sure everything was ok. I have two, both Honda’s. Backup is good.
Rainbow financial Ramadan of sorts. It’s like financial interval training probably helps like intermittent fasting. Great idea…June is a perfect month
Milk restocked ahead of time. Please explain.
Fresh milk can be frozen. Stores and creameries have boxed shelf ready milk that lasts months.
Or freeze dried. 4.6kg dried to 600g, good for 25years, apparently.
We totally freeze the pasteurized stuff until needed. Know those indents on the sides of the gallons? They expand.
Great info. You try to make your own cheese and butter? I may try that after I get a decent loaf of rosemary bread created.
Hey thanks man. Was thinking you did powdered or fresh farm straight from cow. Cool
Sounds lean fire ish. Not to hard to pull off. You're stoxked
Fascinating. I look forward to hearing the results!
Since I've been eating processed and genetically modified foods all my life, my stomach is damaged and I must live on a very restrictive diet. No more processed foods. I make my own bread out of an Ethiopian flour called teff, and I mix my own coconut milk. I eat steaks, eggs, and I make burgers out of grass fed beef. I'll soon experiment with making my own dairy-free cheese and yogurt from coconut milk. I've lost bodyfat around my midsection while eating the same large portions I always have.
Great stuff. I have a list of things I’m trying to do myself, like making bread. Initial results are terrible, but getting better. Made my own organic mayo successfully and making tomato sauce from garden tomatoes for the first time this year. Also learning how to make my own jam with store bought ingredients. Next year will grow my own berries and start a beehive for honey.
That's great. Homemade mayo is the norm in France. I thought mayo was disgusting until I had homemade, then found it can be amazing. You should like into homemade cheese and yogurt too. It's very simple, you just need to buy the bacteria cultures.
Can I just say I love all my frens here! You are all an inspiration to me and the knowledge you all share is fantastic. I know anything I would ever need to do someone here could walk me through the process. Great job u/Star_Commander I would love updates to. ❤️
TOTALLY GREAT POST!!!
Beem shifting my free money and free time from video games (though my wife enjoys commentary and watching), to my new sauce business. Cut out three subs so far, getting those off are a challenge with the wife.
I am not just not spending, I am making. Slowly, but my business looks to be open, God-willing, this year!
This is really cool. Red sauces or you talking marinade type sauces as well? Big need for these without the “natural flavor” crap in it.
Ultimately, "wing" sauces. Since I test my flavors on chicken wings. However, they have many purposes if you are creative. Marinades, glazes, etc. I keep the flavors simple to allow more flexibility.
Literally sent out a label for printing today for the bottles.
EDIT; And yes, all of my sauces have no additional sugar or flavoring crap. Even just adjusted a recipe to have honey as a sweetener over the original sugar. My natural preservatives are vinegar and citric acid (depends on flavor).
Type of milk?
Just open your gallon of milk that you get from a store remove about an inch or so and place in the deep freeze. Remove from the freezer and place in the fridge about two days before intended use. Shake the milk before use. I have frozen whole and 2%. I don't like the taste of anything weaker than 2%.
We preserve crab by freezing it with 2% milk. Works very well.
I’m going to try this with regular milk, goat milk, and buttermilk.
Totally on board with most of this post, the eating in and cancelling of subscriptions. However, for the other items.. if you spent the money ahead of time, your net expenses are still the same, no? The places that you're depriving of business got a bump in May and won't see a difference end of year.
I'm actually ok with that. I live in a land where the dollar has more influence than the vote. I'm withdrawing my dollar, and thus my more powerful than a vote power, from Pride.
There are also milk substitutes

Awesome!!! One day I'll live my life dept free...
You are an inspiration. I was going to try this same thing in July, but I moved it up to June by delaying some things to jump on the NO PRIDE celebration. Farmer’s market purchases exempted only.
Good for you, we're doing the same. We are well stocked so only expect to do one fresh veggie run at in the middle of the month, and hopefully that will be to the farmer's market.
if it says on the label "MADE IN CHINA" the damned thing goes back on the shelf. no more transwizer beer.... no more target... unless it involves a gun and ammo...
