I once read that there are so many women on birth control pills that the estrogen is not being fully absorbed by their bodies, and is passed into our water system through urination. Modern water filtering and purification cannot eliminate the estrogen, so it ends up in drinking water... exposing young people to high levels of estrogen at the critical puberty time in their lives.
Higher levels of estrogen might be the cause of so many effeminate young boys these days.
We use a Zerowater filter. It removes flouride. I haven't looked to see if it reduces estrogen. I did some research into the remineralize the water discussion. I found a counter argument. My son is not on board with this but I think it's worth further research.

Water chemist- most water depts can’t afford RO or activated carbon. The new EPA requirements for lead/copper and PFAS are going to eventually drive all water utilities to use either Carbon or RO, and when they do, expect your water bill to look more like your utility bill. It’s coming. 😬 highly suggest you buy your own personal home RO or used carbon filters.
Chem E. been using RO and multi pass activated carbon filters for 40+ years. whole house active resin bed water softener (hot and cold). huge difference and not very expensive overall. kids grew up with well above average IQ, very healthy. people who spend time here always positively comment on the water. daughter works in municipal water. you must always filter water.

The plastic bottles bottled water comes in will leech synthetic estrogen into the water. If left in the sun or if the bottle is reused it becomes much worse.
It is but I dont have the study handy and I read it before I was saving everything so I doubt I even have it in my possession. But the gist was that the more you refill a plastic water bottle the higher the probability that synthetic estrogen is created and leeched. I believe its created by light exposure and by reusing bottles they are exposed to more light for longer periods of time.
Don't think so, as I recall from the article it was water that municipalities treated and returned into their water supply. Groundwater goes through a LOT of natural filtration to get into aquifers deep below the surface, so I would imagine GW is safer.
Side story -- and quite unrelated -- this discussion of ground water reminded me that a few years ago my wife and I were out in Zion National Park (SW Utah) and near the park headquarters / visitor center is a spigot for hikers to refill their canteens and water bottles. A sign posted there says you are drinking pure water that has filtered through the stone for over 10,000 years. It was the best water I have ever had...slight mineral content but cold and very refreshing. And unlike any "city water" or even bottled water I have ever had.
not too be a pessimist but I went to school for engineering and did environmental remediation such as from contamination in the groundwater from Raytheon. certain contaminants can travel with groundwater from upgradient locations even into/through very deep aquifers.
just be cautious and maybe pay the money to have a full suite of lab analyses performed. CVOCs for example are harmful and can migrate

there should be public access to "release sites" around you to hopefully confirm there's nothing close enough to be of too much concern.

I would disagree with the water filtration part. Estrogen can be easily removed from water with activated carbon and ozone treatment.
If your drinking RO you need to replenish the minerals, don’t forget that.

Also with babies' plastic bottles that are microwaved to warm up the milk or formula.

My well is 300 feet deep and in these days I’m very thankful to have my children drinking from it. No fluoride and no government additives.
