Hotez is demanding $50 million.

This is the Left's strategy. Set impossible standards, blame you for not meeting them, then declare victory.

AMD wrote a great piece yesterday that talked about PH. That he is a grifter why he is going to such great lengths to protect his grift.

Hotez was one of the scientists who complicit in the deadly gain of function research on the SARS coronavirus (despite Obama having ordered GoF to be paused) that gave us COVID-19. From 2012-2017, he had a 6.1 million grant from the NIH to develop a SARS vaccine with the stated aim of responding to any “accidental release from a laboratory,” some which was then used to fund GoF research conducted by the leader of the Wuhan lab in 2017 (link to paper can be found here). Of the millions upon millions in grants Hotez has received to develop vaccines throughout his career, the COVID-19 vaccine is his only “success” (he made a Halal one that was targeted to Muslims around the world).

If you take a step back, Hotez’s refusals to debate make it very clear he’s a grifter; he claims to be a selfless advocate for the poor, yet he cares so much about protecting his grift by not losing face he’s not even willing to spend a few hours chatting with someone he disagrees with to donate more money to the poor than most of us will make in our lifetimes.

However, once you look a bit deeper in Hotez’s background, a much darker interpretation reveals itself. Since Hotez was directly complicit in creating COVID-19, and benefitted handsomely from his research to create a vaccine for it, he cannot allow himself to ever, under any circumstances to undergo critical examination for his past conduct. I fully admit that while I would probably be a better person were I to be in Hotez’s shoes (I would humiliate myself publicly so I could make a big impact in a lot of people’s lives through a large donation to charity), if I had done what Hotez did with SARS-CoV-2, I also would not under any circumstances take the risk of being exposed for it and I can empathize with why he is terrorized by the thought anyone might look into what he did.
