Except its not.....idiots in my neighborhood been shooting them off every night for several hours for the past two weeks. Some of us actually have to be up early to go work. Enough is enough.
Absolutely! We live in a redneck area full of pyromaniacs. Three days before they start, and continue a couple days after. New Year's Eve, too. They start at 8pm and go to 1am, probably two or three dozen houses all around us, a radius of about a half a mile. Not a moment's peace. Particles of the rockets are everywhere, and this is an arid area...
Equating something stupid like fireworks with "freedom" is a fool's errand...
It's fine having a twenty-minute show at a park where those who want to enjoy it can go, but allowing it in residential areas where people are trying to sleep, enjoy some peace, etc., not to mention the fire danger, is idiotic.
So, let me get this straight. "Freedom" is granted to a select few who disregard laws and local ordinances to set off fireworks, but taken away from law-abiding citizens who lose the peace and tranquility that should be their right?
Same here, and they don't just go for 15 to 30 minutes either, they go well into the nights (like past 10-11 pm or later), days before and days after. On the 4th they are still throwing them after midnight, of course well after midnight on New Years eve. I totally understand everyone wanting to see fireworks, I do too, but limit them to the evening of holiday and to a limited time frame. Like for a few hours, then stop. Respect others in your community who may be terrified of fireworks (and pets, my pups are really scared of them and have to give them calming meds) or those who may have ptsd or have small kids that need to sleep or whoever has to get up at the crack of dawn to go to work.
Some dogs escape their yards because they get so terrified, then get lost. My two dogs shake so bad and need meds to calm them down and even they don't work to totally calm them down. We have to blast the tv volume and they can still hear them.
Yes I know, but they are pretty expensive, I'd have to get the xl because both my pups are 100 lbs each. I just use their jackets that they were when it's cold or rainy outside.
You can train your dog to not be so scared. There are videos on this that explain better than I can. Dogs need a chance to safely see the fireworks, being held or leashed, with their owner.
Exactly..as a kid parents would take us to crazy charlie's or loony luke's in tnn to stock up..we set them off year round..july obviously the pinacle..these folks are shaking their fist at clouds
Nation spirit is fine, so also is respect for your neighbors. Antagonizing the Vets who fought for your freedom to shoot off fireworks any time you please who are now suffering from PTSD and other issues is not patriotic whatsoever.
Thats a stupid reason. Now they should cancel them because canada sucks and blows.
https://youtu.be/Z4xMYeYOuR8. My neighbor in indiana are one of these off in a city lot...sirens went off cops cruised by
GET OVER IT!

To much freedom for you I guess.

Freedom is not up to govt to allow or not allow.
It's free.

How's that "freedom" working out for ya? https://news.yahoo.com/federal-data-shows-fireworks-caused-193542526.html
We have no laws against setting off fireworks.
You must live in some commie state.
Freedom is noisy sometimes
freedom? you know this is about the shithole canada
You know we are not much better..
Some parts of the US are just as shitty.
but its not as bad as this shithole. trudeau basically said fuck you.

They make thunder vests that help dogs
Yes I know, but they are pretty expensive, I'd have to get the xl because both my pups are 100 lbs each. I just use their jackets that they were when it's cold or rainy outside.
Why should anyone have to buy a special vest for their dog when idiots cannot control themselves?

People can and should shoot whatever they want. They should also respect their neighbors and not shoot them to late.
Exactly..as a kid parents would take us to crazy charlie's or loony luke's in tnn to stock up..we set them off year round..july obviously the pinacle..these folks are shaking their fist at clouds
I go to the Indian reservation, and can buy everything ever invented...

Lots of vets enjoy fireworks. It is one of the freedoms they fought for.
They went nuts w semis honking too
The honkening was an effort to save canada. The fireworks are a celebration that we lost.
We gotta up our numbers boys! Blow more shit up! 26 Is rookie numbers!
