There are a lot of 'students' with 50 to 100k in student loans. Having to cough up taxes on that much money will put a lot of them under.
What are the gonna do? Sell their homes? Run to the banksters for a loan? Mom and pop need to get that bedroom ready. When you take from the banksters you pay it back plus interest and they don't care if you are still taking classes in drama or basket weaving you still make the payments or they come for your shit.
Think bigger.
How many of these are on food stamps etc and won't qualify because they had an extra 10~20k in income because of loan forgiveness.
The student loan + Super high fees scam is a program developed by the Cabalites to enslave young people to debt.
If the fees were not so ridiculously high, such loans would be needed much less.
If the loans were not taken out, young people could start their working life from zero, and actually build a foundation, instead of being enslaved to debt.
In addition, it creates a situation where actual deadbeat students can study neo-marxist indoctrination fodder and then not actually take ultimate responsibility.
While the forgiveness of student loans by a federal system seems abhorrent, the existence of the loans + super high fees system is even worse.
I don't know the solution to this conundrum is. Horrible situation.
Student loan forgiveness does not equal tax forgiveness. At the min 18% is more than 7 Billion in taxes. There would be no tax benefit to the gov’t if paid back. The Feds probably already own the loan paper. They know they’re out the 39Billion. What other stats are they able to report on with the loan forgiveness?
During the housing crash Obummer came up with some scheme to forgive the federal taxes. As I recall the state taxes on the other hand were not forgiven. It is hard to remember what came of all the scheming since zero laws were followed then.

So. The IRS Auditors are going to have a field day. Because it’s doubtful most of the people who got debt forgiven will be told about this fact.
Its also doubtful that people who take the cancellation will be able to pay the extra taxes.
No, I’ve seen lots of comments from people working for the major consulting firms, (Deloitte, PwC, BCG, Kantar, McKinsey, etc), talk about the purchases they made with their newfound windfall — think 15K watches, vacations, luxury handbags and clothing.
This was during the first round of Biden’s promise to cancel debt.
These are people making well over 100K as starting salaries, and many of whom come privileged backgrounds.
These people know how to hide money and game the system.
These people comprise a large portion of those getting a govt handout that hardworking Americans will be responsible for covering.

The feds will also make the loan forgiveness tax deductible. They are just getting started on the march toward full blown socialism.

Could be. Either way, the globalist academic system in the US (loans + super high fees) is a slave system that needs to be taken down. IMO.

The loans that will be forgiven will only be for foreign students. Especially Chinese.

Nope. Every single penny that is forgiven will be tied to foreign students or super duper oppressed LGBTQ+ alphabet groups. IF you are an American, especially a white American - well you get to pay and oh, might as well double that liability that you are on the hook for with high taxes.
