Question.... I've been hearing for years now that the powers that be have built in back doors on the chipsets themselves. Apparently the bios has built in back doors, the chips have in their basic code a phone home feature.
How does doing this hot swap running off a flash drive circumvent that?
Ok, but, what your saying or rather confirming is that yes, that built in link does exist? I'm not a techie at all, I used to tinker but eventually stopped. I was hoping someone would have called bullshit, but in today's crazy landscape I'm not surprised.
Old computers, CHECK. I knew hanging onto my old machines would pay off somehow. We need a new, decentralized chip maker. Hey Elon.... Fuck nevermind.

Is this how dominion machines are set up?
Seems like someone watches LTT.
Was happy to see this on his video yesterday. I didn’t know this kind of boot drive existed before it.

Users of pure Debian never have to type 'sudo'😎
If you log in as root, you'll never have to type sudo
Use 'su -' if you know root's password.
If not, and you are in sudoers (think admin in windoze terms) then you would have to 'sudo su -'
Thank you, this is a very well-written explainer.
Awesome, saving this! Thank you!
u/Uhtred am I missing something? Before I clicked into this post, I thought I saw a list of how to create this.
It looked like a great tool & I can't find it now. Maybe I just need more sleep LoL
Can I get those directions again please?
It looks like the post got removed.
Thank you for letting us know.
This is super cool, had never heard of it, perfect when you need to check something real quick on that fucking MS crapware and a VM won't cut it.
Or when you want to check a new distro out.
Post removal: Off topic.
