My wife and I are having early dinner this afternoon (4pm) with my uber liberal niece and her wimpy husband. They are vaxxed and boosted to the max, and having health issues attendant with that choice. We meet with them in the interest of family unity... trying to keep the family together despite our political and cultural differences. I'm the strange Uncle who has odd beliefs about life and the world, doncha know? Well traveled, well read, articulate, and can speak on many subjects... I think she's drawn into my presence for reasons she can't quite define, but still, I'm the weird Uncle of the family. Hehehe...
I remember a couple of years back when we met them and other family members for dinner, the niece asked me and also my nurse sister, why we weren't getting the vaxx? My sister answered with facts and what was known at the time; but when my niece asked me, I knew it was futile and that she was asking for the wrong reasons...trying to see where we were "misinformed."
I simply said, "The answer to that is so convoluted, I can't explain it to you in this setting. If you have read "The Great Barrington Declaration" (she had not, didn't even know what it was), or read anything by Dr. Robert Malone or Dr. Peter McCullough (again she had no idea who these guys were), then I might be able to discuss it with you intelligently. But I can't so it will just have to be one of those weird Uncle issues."
And that's where we left it... agree to disagree. God help her, she's STILL stuck in that tired old "follow the science" paradigm and I think it's going to kill her.

I’m trying to plant some seeds so when niece and nephew do grow up, marry and have kids they remember weird old uncle said something about ‘vaccine’ poison, etc...and make good decisions.
I became tired of trying to tell people. They would respond my heart doctor told me to. They would say it is the same as the measles vaccine. I have to work or they will fire me. I want to travel. I have to visit my family member in a nursing home.
I see my cardiologist twice a year. He has never said a word about the jab. My internist however recommended it and i told him I would not take an experimental jab that is not truly a vaccine. He said no more.
I think my GP knew the facts of the situation too. He asked if I had had the vaxx -- I said no -- asked if I wanted it -- again, no. Briefly asked what were my reasons, and I gave them to him.... experimental drug, mRNA-based, unknown long-term effects, no proper clinical trials, etc.
He said, OK and moved on, and has never brought it up again. He belongs to a large corporate medical group and was probably required to bring it up and to offer it, but did not insist on it. Such is Big Medicine right now. Most doctors are caught up in it and have to follow the dictates of the industry.
Nope, he's never asked about them at all. He knows I'm a former Marine and conservative, and he might have guessed about my stance on firearms, but he's never asked about them. I made up my mind years ago, when doctors asking about firearms first became a thing, that if any doctor ever DID ask me, I am going to look him in the eye and lie to his face... "No, I hate those things!" It's none of his business, and even saying "It's none of your business" would get me written down as a gun owner.
My Doctor HAS NOT EVEN touched that subject what so ever...HE already knows the answer because I told him up front when I first me him...NO VACCINE SHOTS OF ANY KIND FROM HERE ON OUT...
Tucker Carlson described how the sheeple see us (based folks) as outlaws or moral criminals. For some reason, knowing this helps give me some closure with this situation. If supporting/defending the truth makes me an outlaw and a moral criminal, then I’m good with that!
You have not demonstrated any cognitive dissonance. It exists only when two equally strong contradictory ideas present themselves to someone who cannot choose which one to believe. That's it. Demonrats are fine with what they believe, because they do not allow in any contradictory thoughts.
