Hard disagree. Legal immigration is fine when done right.
The legal immigrants who put forth the effort are so far from being the problem that anyone who doesn't see the difference is just being dumb.
That doesn't mean I'm in favor of unrestricted legal immigration right now either, however. I think all immigration should be closed until we've successfully removed every single illegal from this country.

I dont have any problem with legal immigration based on the needs of the economy. The problem isnt immigration it is allowing massive numbers to come illegally with no vetting process and the giant influx of poorly trained H1B visas who then bring the entire extended family where few of them ever contribute.
Income is so hard to come by here in Georgia. $10/hr jobs are all I have seen available this summer. Plus the city and county weaponize red tape to make it nearly impossible to be an entrepreneur. Woke cancel Culture liberals are at the top of all industries with blacklists. All while larping as net authority vanguards monitoring social media. This Fall I’m going to be volunteering at a really based family farm we buy our meat from, where im praying a job can sprout!!!! Every business I see is just staffed with 18-24 year old looking depressing females
The industrial corridor north of one of the local (rural Virginia) towns has huge billboards advertising job openings, one after the other. I was told one warehouse is paying $40 an hour for workers. The regional jail out there has one for jail officers with starting pay at $45,000 a year. A year or so ago the big box stores and fast food joints all had signs saying they paid $16 an hour or more. Most of them are staffed with a lot of very elderly people who can no longer survive on their Social Security.
The reason for this all comes down to money. Immigrants will work for far less than native-born Americans. It's not that "Americans don't want to work anymore!!" They just don't want to work for the low wages many companies pay.
So business owners will hire immigrants, rather than increase the amount they will pay Americans.
It's just a fact of life, and has been this way for a long time.
So what do we do about it? Find a way to force employers to hire Americans, making them pay more for labor? The first thing they will do is increase the price of goods and services to offset any profit loss for them.
And I know this is going to ruffle some feathers, but this isn't just some liberal-led plot to replace Americans with foreigners. Conservative business owners do it, too. Even President Trump and his family. Doesn't anyone remember that whole kerfuffle about Trump Winery hiring foreign workers instead of spending more on paying American workers? It was in the news for, literally, years.

This has been true since Reagan and probably long before that. The US Chamber of Commerce actually endorsed illegal immigration during Reagan’s terms which probably lead to his poor decision to grant them amnesty.
This is why the new immigrates that come to here on H1 visas are democrats. The ones that immigrated in the 70 and 80 are patriots.

I think the people that came here in the 70/80 had to apply them wait to years come. The new people on h1 visa come instantly. They don’t appreciate what this country is. Of course that is my own opinion.
