I'm not smart enough. I don't have the "calling". It costs a LOT of money. I have zero communication skills. My dog would be lonely without me around. How would I live at the Capitol of my state, I cannot afford a second house or rental expense? My spouse is fat, ugly, and screeches when talking.
These are probably the biggest reasons folks make as to why they don't want to become beacons of the community. Yea, it does take time to serve once you've been elected, but for the good of the country, your county or your city I think anybody could serve for a couple of years. The list of conditions to apply for the ballot is generally short, over a certain age and an American citizen, (or live within the state your are running within). And yes, I've never run for political office because I've never figured out how to get my name on the ballot. But since I'm no longer in the workforce, maybe it's time to rethink my reasons for not doing it.
If you've ever seen a ballot then you know that there are names on it that you have to vote for or against that you've never heard of before. You sit there and think, "OK, who should I vote for, I don't know who this person is". Heck, every election season I stand there and do the Russian Roulette of choosing. Tell me where I can find information online as to who the local candidates are and their views on the issues. Pretty nonexistent. Which might be a good reason for you to run. With the wave of Red becoming prominent, now could be the best time to get your name on the ballot as a Republican. When folks vote they usually vote a party line. Mainly that's what I do unless there is somebody I personally know or have heard about.
Now is the time to go to your county seat and begin the process of figuring out how to get your name on the ballot. Which office should I run for, you might ask? Your county officials will tell you offices which will be open. Start there. If you see a school board vacancy, then maybe it's your turn to sit on it. Sign up. I'd love to because the School Board Director in my school system is a real dog boy. He refuses to put pencils in students fingers. ABSOLUTELY REFUSES. Things like this should light a fuse under you seat. Want to get a little higher on the pecking order? How about becoming a Land Commissioner? Or a state Representative or Senator? Maybe even venture into rare air and toss your hat into the US Representative or Senate race. (Heck, Fetterman won, are you better than him?) Yea, that costs some money.
I'd say most folks on GAW are just common folks who don't have any extra cash to spend on a campaign. Yea, I'm there with you, but the local races are pretty much designed so the common man can participate. You're afraid because you don't know how much the filing fees are? Go to the county seat and ask. No campaign funds to get some huge billboards or call centers up and running? Just getting your name on the ballot is a big hill to overcome. But once you are on the ballot the only thing keeping you from winning (especially if you register as a R) is the changing of the numbers in the tabulators.(cough, cough, Dominion) This election cycle is fervent with folks wanting a change and since the Dems have driven the economy into the ground we are primed to pick up Dem votes. Just take this for what its worth, whenever I vote for a candidate, billboards, yard signs, internet ads, or robo calls do not persuade me from voting an R ticket. Just get your name on the ballot so the Dems have some competition. I hate seeing only one person running for an office, especially if that one person is a Dem.
Think about this. Chew on it. It might be up your alley, it might not. But at least contemplate it because this country needs patriots in office to direct where it will go in the future. Those patriots all must be in every level. From dog catcher to US Senator, we need you.
Thanks for taking the time to read this missive. Hopefully it will spark interest and begin something positive. God bless.
This only applies to those who believe there is a political solution, of which there is not.
We hate them all. We don't trust any of them. We don't care what they say or what they have to offer. We want them all hanged.
We've read the tea leaves and are now just waiting for the tap on the shoulder for when it's time to do "it's time" stuff. We literally DON'T CARE about the fake, rigged vote anymore. Consent to govern has been revoked. Consent to BE governed by anyone at all will never be given again as long as we live.
But good luck to those still playing around with ballot slot-machines!
Honestly, the only reason I haven't officially run for mayor is concerns about my wife and her business.
Any attacks on me are water off a ducks back. I'm a great debater and I wouldn't take any shit. Full on run and shoot offense
But my wife is only half awake, and I really do worry about the repercussions
I'm in New Jersey in a fairly large town. Mid to large size.
Although it's far more red then they would have you believe, there would still be significant attacks.
I have other ideas though that would circumvent the established political game, which really amounts to nothing more than a circle jerk between friends.
I have thought about this as well.
Run as an Independent and use the time to educate as many as you can on how the different parties twist words and never follow through. The system is broken and they are all still playing the political game. Enough is enough. It's a fairly simple process to take back control, we just need to follow it through. Either we do it, our we watch our kids lose the ability to.
The trick to speaking in public is being prepared.
I would have multiple copies of folders with all my sources. Organized for someone to take it, read through, and be caught up to speed. That way you don't have to waste time explaining your reasoning. Just quote some sources and they can read the rest in the folder. If they don't, they'll look stupid if they continue to speak up. Just keep tapping the folder. Then ask them why they would try and persuade all these people without a desire to understand the subject and it's critics? It's right there for them. "Let's get to the bottom of this together, as my angle is always a search for truth, wherever it may lead."
Truth to power.
God Bless you Patriot!
A lot of people are Trump supporters here.
But the politics are dirty as hell... or at least as dirty as Louisiana.
Uniparty control everything.
Representative Steve Christiansen of Utah stood with Mike Lindell, discussed a 2020 election audit, and then subsequently resigned his elected position due to threats to his wife. He also resigned from his position in his church.
They come after your family like a gang. It's unfortunately effective.
Like Frank Reynolds said, "you have to be a real lowlife piece of shit to get into politics." But he's wrong. You also could be incredibly resilient to get into politics.
Family is the biggest concern for sticking yourself out there, for sure. Imo you need to get into a position where you can completely hold them down first
Why do I not run for office?
Let me tell you the ways...I am approaching 80. I have arthritis from head to toe. It takes me until noon to get moving so I can get Susie homemaker work done and cook for my husband.
I do what I can on a laptop but have been permanently banned on X for trying to make a change.
But I do get truly pissed when people ask this question because it belies the fact that some of us are ignoring the issue.
I really wish some of you would stop asking why some of us are not doing enough to fulfill your MAGA/Patriot aspirations.
For those of us who can; we will without your input. For those of us who can't: you just piss us off.
Sorry if this comes across as mean, but as I said I am sick of listening to podcasts and reading posts about:
"Why are you not doing more to make life better in this Country?" "Why don't you get off your ass and do something?" "Stop eating the Cheetos and do something, you lazy ass!"
BECAUSE FOR MUST OF US ON THIS PLATFORM - IF WE COULD WE WOULD. PERIOD!
Hurrahs for those of you who are young enough; fit enough; and hopeful enough to do what needs to be done.
Ma'am, I love your response. My question wasn't about actually wanting every one to get out there and raise their hand. It was more to inspire those who might be on the fence and are pondering a run. We all have our limitations as to why we don't serve. The one thing I believe each person, who is still breathing, must do is to actally cast a vote. Those folks who sit in their basements and complain about how rotten this country has become, yet never cast a vote get no love from me. You, on the other hand, I can feel you'd love to serve, but Mother Nature is standing in the way. I don't complain about you nor harbor any ill will. I believe you've done your part and now let the young'uns take over. But your knowledge certainly could be passed along. I love nothing more than to sit down with an elderly person and ask them about their lives. Such interesting people in this great country. God bless you.
Thank you!
If you're on this board you have already done more than 10x that of a boobtube fox watcher has done.
I have a problem with freaking out on people. Hard to hold my tongue most of the time, especially on the farm when someone is fucking up my crop
Really. If Fetterman can run and win, then ANYBODY can run and win.
I think we all know Fetterman didn't "win". Like a lot of the others he was placed in office by the DS.
Cambria County Republicans tell me all seats are filled and then I go and find Dems running unopposed. Then I show up multiple times to try to stump and work for candidates only to be told the best way is to pay a 50$ admission fee to a fundraiser. And when I point put different ways things could be done I get an annoyed look and they begrudgingly take my number then never respond to any texts or calls.
I want to run for office but no one seems to have the answers on where, what, and how.
I actually posted here about running for city council and the response was lackluster to say the least. I would say only one person really provided helpful input.

In order to run, it wouldn't just be me who carries, it would need to be my wife, too. I worry that I am indeed just the man for the job.
Start attending your monthly county meetings, learn what's going on and get to know the people. Volunteer to help with fund raising and local campaigns. It will be much easier to run if you know these people. I was very involved with local politics for many years.
I think I have a greater impact being a math teacher in a rural school. Besides, I have Asperger's Syndrome and have difficulty speaking in public.
I’m waiting to see how the landscape changes moving forward. I’m Canadian and think the entire systems broken. Running for office is a waste of time ( TO ME ) and honestly too much of it needs to be changed. Military is the only way
Okay, I’ll answer this one easy. My wife. I’m retired after suffering a severe back injury 5 years ago, working for my county. It ended a great 20yr career. I’m 48 now and better. Still have issues and somewhat disabled but could be on my school board, City or County Council, and I’ve even thought about running against NewScum. But my wife does not want our life ripped apart, microscopes, some fake mud dragged up to just cause damage, all thanks to our current media and the mass lefty/ANTIFA prescience in Cali.
She doesn’t give a crap I’d be good at it on paper, and life/job experience. She does not want us or my 2 minor aged daughters also being roped in or hassled.
Now once they’re both out of the house in 4-5 years then heck yes. But now is not the time to have our lives shredded by these animals until they’re all behind bars, and MSM has been burned to the ground.
Felony
lol yeah buddy the system is rigged from the ground up. The amount of shenanigans that go on in local election let alone national elections is ridiculous.
Like Frank Reynolds said "you have to be a real lowlife piece of shit to get into politics."
Thanks. You made me chuckle.
