Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I get so confused over the numbers of illegal aliens in the United States. In the 1980’s google reports the numbers as 3 million, but I remember that number being close to 20 million. I have no sauce but but the numbers reported today do not add up. Who is counting?
I just had a thought is cancer man-made?
Washington DC will be hit by Tropical Storm Ophelia. Biblical signs. "Ophel" located in the capital city of Jerusalem, meaning "hill." Literally Capitol Hill.
I got a call for an interview for Piggly for next week for a full time position. It's a very short drive from my house and my son's school. The sub position at my previous preschool job, and where I was kind of dreading going back to, would let me set my own hours, pretty much, especially when he's out of school. It's farther away and I hate the traffic to get there, so that's a no-brainer, but I really hate to give up weekend time with my family. I've trusted God this far. I cannot quit now. At this point, I'm not too worried about pay because anything beats the zero I've been bringing in. 😉 My husband let his current boss know he was offered another job, and they are going to try to meet the other company's salary offer to keep him where he is. They really like him and don't want him to leave. He doesn't want to have to leave, either.
My son is in his school's gifted program. He's a smart one! He also applied for the robotics club. He'd do very well in that. They only take fifteen kids from 3rd-5th grades, so I hope he's one! He has no interest in sports. He hates to lose, and I think that's a big part of it. (He comes by it honestly.)
I vaguely mentioned I'm going through my own ordeal right now with a long lingering injury that's making life difficult, especially raising my son. Lots of parallels with you and your husband and my wife and I. Putting everything in God's hands, and He has always delivered, but it's never easy.
Thanks for all the updates. It continues to lift my spirits vicariously. 😃♥️
You're right! It's never easy, but it's always worth it. I'm glad to hear it helps you.
Prayers to you sister
Thanks so much!
Number of Articles of impeachment - is that like the reasons for being impeached, counts against a criminal, etc.
How would someone with no knowledge of the stock market buy shares of dwac as a starting point?
I got set up through Fidelity. I was able to buy stock using the app once the transfer of funds from my current bank went through. If I can do it, I'm sure you can too. I still don't really know anything about stocks, but I'm apparently pretty good at losing money quickly.
Hahahahahaha! Me too!
Fidelity is easy enough to use.
Saw a #WWG1WGA sticker on the car next to me the other day. Left a response on the white line by the driver door....
NCSWIC? 😃
Since I was going...
I know there are some other attorneys on this board. I'd like them to chime in here.
Looking at the depositions/interviews of witnesses before the J6 Select Committee, two notable absences stand out to me: (1) Dennis Montgomery; and (2) Lin Wood.
Starting with Lin, they ask Byrne about his meeting at Tomotley. They ask Powell about the meeting at Tomotley. They ask Flynn about the meeting at Tomotley. But they never subpoena the guy that organized and hosted the meeting. More than odd.
Same thing with Montgomery. They ask Byrne about Montgomery and Hammer and Scorecard. They ask Powell about Montgomery and Hammer and Scorecard. They ask Flynn about Montgomery and Hammer and Scorecard. But you know who they don't subpoena? Montgomery. And they don't subpoena his data. I don't think they wanted to hear what he had to say, nor did they want to have to face up to his data.
What do others make of this?
I am not a lawyer, though my gut told me they didn't want to have Hammer & Scorecard even be able to be admitted as evidence by allowing its creator to be questioned. Maybe my speculation is unfounded

I think the equinox is tomorrow.
I do like simple logic.
2nd Verse! Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night, 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.
Seems all about perfection.
The wicked means judged less than perfect.
Sinner is an archery term to miss the bullseye, to fall short of perfection.
The law of the Lord is perfect.
Learning that our faith is much about perfect things is what Jesus Christ brings us daily.
The fall of mankind is a fall from the perfect. Learning to live in an imperfect fallen world, is made better with faith in perfect things. Good morning on this perfect day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13:8-10:
Or another version has for verse 10, when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
First Verse.
Deuteronomy 25:4
(This one made me think of our first amendment rights.)
