I wish we could duplicate the Earth and implement the changes these assholes want, then make them live in their carbon zero hellscape where they belong.
I had a related idea which is completely practical. Why not find a suitable area and try it all out there first. If it works then i can be rolled out to the rest of us.
What we would need is a community that is representative in size, has lots of farming and industry, has the benefit of sun, wind, sea and mountains so it can implement whatever technology works best. I suggest California! They are always in favour of such things and they would make an excellent prototype.
