Serious question for this board. A vet buddy (and lurker here) and I were discussing the current thing, and we were wondering if our "greatest ally" has ever helped us militarily. We've searched for IDF in Iraq, Afghanistan, and even Vietnam, and it would appear that Israel never sent troops or participated in combat operations in any of those theaters as our allies. I've tried a bunch of different search terms to come up with anything even tangential, and nothing.
We're both fully awake but this is a massive redpill for both of us at the moment. I don't want to be hasty in the conclusion that our "greatest ally" has never actually acted as an ally, so I wanted to see if anons knew of specific, meaningful examples of joint US/IDF operations in the conflicts concerning our interests and not just assassinations / targeted hits.
So, any anons aware of the IDF actually acting as allied forces in any conflict?
Our "greatest ally" attacked the USS Liberty, with the blessing of our military of course..
not so sure our military gave it's blessing, but it sure did help cover it up when ordered to do so.
Solid question.
Their sweat is worth more, just ask them...
I’m sure Israel and Ukraine would return the favor if we ever went to war 🤷🏼♂️😂🤣😂
When the deep state says "our" they really mean theirs; they've been the deep state's ally, not the people's.
Amen.
A major piece of the psyop !
The closest thing to ally action I can recall coming from Israel is back in Desert Storm, they tolerated a bunch of haphazard SCUD missile attacks from Saddam Hussein. We did send them over the latest greatest whiz bang tech of the time called the patriot missile system which blunted the SCUD attacks. Of coarse they were being ally like because it was against Israel's self interest at the time to jump into that conflict directly and break the coalition.
That's the best I could come up with which isn't a particularly good example.
So we helped them defend themselves, but they didn't commit any troops to help us stop them getting attacked. Strange, isn't it?
Yes, in many cases it is exactly that.
For Desert Storm, which like all wars had its own set of cabal involvement problems, Israel joining that conflict at that time would have fractured the coalition (Syria and Turkey would have dropped out and not let us over fly for our air sorties, Saudi Arabia would have had a conniption fit with fearing invasion and likely make it difficult to keep bringing in troops or to build bases within their territory). Basically the winning move in that theatre was for Israel not to respond or counter attack Iraq while we were ramping up for invasion.
Saddam understood the political climate of the Middle East very well which is why he lobbed SCUD missiles over at Israel which didn't even have a border with him while the operation was building as Desert Shield. He hoped for a response that would break up the coalition.
However you look at it, Israel's motivation was not to be a good ally then, but to milk the international political capital from refraining from retaliating against Iraq. It was a strategic, politically advantageous action for Israel which also aligned with our interests and what we were doing at the time.. Heck their whole Iron Dome thing would not have been started if they had decided to respond.
Thank you for the comprehensive responses! So they had some (apparently) legitimate reasons to stay on the sidelines. Regardless, no help from the "greatest ally".
Is the Patriot system where they got the tech to build Iron Dome?
After a brief search, I located this Israeli publication explaining the story of their current iron dome development and history.
https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/us-israel-missile-defense#:~:text=Patriot,-Developers%3A%20Raytheon%3B%20Hughes&text=Overview%3A%20The%20Patriot%20missile%20system,in%20shooting%20down%20incoming%20missiles.
It does lack in depth details that would clearly trace iron dome to the patriot missile system of the 90's and early 00's, but if from my perspective, it isn't believable that their new systems development wouldn't have built upon lessons learned from the patriot missile system because that had that system sitting in their own backyard the whole time. It's also interesting to me that they have contacted to US MIC corporations to build substantial portions of their own iron dome system.
Probably, and then sold the Patriot system to the CCP for some quick cash.
Most people don't realize the United States has no defense pacts with Israel. Never did. This is not because of the United States, for the US is more than willing to defend Israel. Rather, it is because Israel refuses reciprocity that a defense pact requires.
Consider me one of those people. Does this mean we don't have any signed treaties with them? Because that's straight up wild for a "greatest ally".
There has always been a war on words. They cut like a stilleto and are used to misinform and mislead. These words "greatest ally" has no written basis with the United States in terms of defense treaties. This article somewhat admits it, but misleads the reader by saying, "Both Israelis and Americans have mixed feelings about the potential treaty,...". Does anyone doubt that the Congress would vote for this? Of course they would. So, the truth is and always has been, Israel wants a one-way street.
Oh, oh, there was this one time, in like the early 90s, when....
Nope, that was again Israeli Defense on their own dirt....
Oh, I know, that Airplane that was hijacked....
Nope, again, that was Israeli Defense....
An absurdity spoken often enough without anyone bothering to ask “What does that even mean?” becomes a passively accepted truth.
Who the fuck decides who “our” allies are anyway? And who is “us” in this scenario really? Literal just propaganda. No basis whatsoever in reality. When Jesus was asked who “our” neighbor should be, he told the story of the Samaritan. All of humanity should be treated like our neighbors/allies. Self defense is always warranted, but we should love the masses wherever they may be from.
Our greatest ally provided pretext for multiple wars the US waged. How is that not helping?
🤣 they did help out the military (industrial complex)!
And made bank doing it, through investments in that same complex.
Good question.
Wasn’t England declared the USA’s “greatest ally” during 9/11? They (insert corrupt group here) seem to change their minds pretty frequently. It depends on what wool they are trying to pull over whose eyes.
