I don't believe they really do want people to eat bugs. A statement like this is not typical of their gradual-gradual approach to getting people slowly to accept detrimental policies. But of course 99% of western people would outright reject the idea immediately there would be no gradual acceptance.
I think "u will eat ze bugs" is a deception designed to ameliorate the reality of eating a debased diet containing less nourishment and less variety. "They" hope you will be OK about eating your grim factory protein because "hey guys at least it's not bugs."
