Can someone confirm if this is real and not an AI deepfake? It's supremely irritating to even have that thought whenever I view something that should otherwise be straightforward.
I don't speak Korean 😅 Ive just listened to enough Japanese, Chinese, and Korean or other languages to know when they say Trump or Biden you will be able to understand in English but it'll be an Asian accent.
Unless Kim Jung In is using some special nicknames for each of them (or saying current president/past president), he's not mentioning them.
Agreed. I had the same thoughts while listening to it, and was specifically waiting to hear him say Trump.
Not sure about the country names though - in fact I doubt that. I remember in French class way back in high school that Germany was Allemagne. That stuck with me because it sounds nothing like Germany. For that matter it is Deutschland in actual German. I saw a comment on here yesterday similarly talking about place pronunciations and they brought up Napoli vs. Naples. They are closer but may sound different with a Korean accent.
As for the music - they missed the opportunity for K-pop.
It sounds like he mentioned China in the beginning.
Word for China in Korean sounds very close to the Mandarin word for China.
Also France and Germany have a totally different historical relationship than others because the Francs were a German tribe that ended up taking over France (hence the name France). So it makes sense their names are different, just like it makes sense name for China (middle kingdom) and surrounding Asian countries is different from Western countries (named after Qin, China pronounced same).
Korea or China has no historical relationship with Ukraine, Israel, or Palestine so I don't expect the name to change much from western version. Maybe Russia since they've been in Asia so long.
Thanks for the addition, u/FractalizingIron, that was also the speech in question I was able to locate on YouTube. Though I wasn't sure because it was in front of a government background and thought it could have been used for multiple speeches. However, that was the one that aligned with the background in this tweet video so I figured it had to be it.

Its not real but also not an AI deepfake. Its just a fake translation with some music added in.
Names like Biden and Trump are untranslatable into Korean and would be said as is.
Also you would probably hear something similar to the words in English if he actually said Israel, Palestine, Russia, Ukraine.
If this is fake it shouldn't be pinned until it's verified.
Fake news is pinned here all the time
I thought something was... "off" about it when I watched it. Thanks for the insight, Fren.

Well picked up.
FI < This anon speaks and reads Korean fluently, and I can affirm its balderdash.
Note to humans: disinfo operations abound, all the time, always directed at everyone, including anons. Hold the line, and follow your spidey senses.
Makes sense, haha! In any case, you're right. :)

Sorry to disappoint, but the text over is fakoramarama.

Would you believe that all I had to do was to type into google: "kim jong un speech" and this came up as the very first hit?
We have to lift our game, anons.
There is TOO much at stake to just be posting or believing (especially if it sounds too good to be true) content without taking steps to verify.

I agree... we're too hair trigger, including me.
