AHA CPR instructor/firefighter here. This has been discussed and found to not work. Worth a try since it’s a last ditch option but don’t count on it reversing ventricular fibrillation or a blockage.
I have heard cayenne pepper 1tsp under the tongue can help in that case as it helps with blood flow.
Although you would have to carry some with you maybe a little capsule in your pocket.
Thank you for this information. Very helpful. Learning the other signs of myocardial infarction is handy, too, since not everyone experiences chest pains.
According to Dr. John Christopher you can drink a cayenne pepper tea to stop a heart attack if the person is still conscious (1 teaspoon in hot water), and if they're not conscious you can use a tincture or extract of cayenne pepper and a couple drops under the tongue.
Also acupoints Heart 9 and Small Intestine 1, if pressed simultaneously, are supposed to stop heart attacks as well. Those points are at the end of your pinky finger on the corners of the nail beds so its easy to reach.
