It's not hard to fix the border and deport all the aliens
It just takes the political will to do it
We don't have to run these people through our court system, either. If they are not a legal resident, they don't get access to our courts, but instead deal either with the executive branch through the immigration department, or the military.
If there aren't enough immigration agents and military to deal with it, then muster the militia. Problem will be solved in about an hour.
(1) Announce that all illegals must return to their home country within 30 days, or they will be arrested, documented, and forever barred from entering again, even legally.
(2) Halt all outbound payments to Mexican banks for 90 days -- Western Union, banks, etc.
(3) Require all schools that receive federal funding (almost all do) to document the citizenship of their students, and report non-citizens to immigration.
(4) Require all hospitals and clinics that receive federal funding (they all do) to document the citizenship of their patients, and report non-citizens to immigration.
(5) Put military troops on the southern border, until the wall is completed.
(6) Set up a task force with local SWAT teams to round up criminal elements within the illegal population.
(7) Put Mexico on notice that they have 90 days to take affirmative action to stop illegal border crossing into the US, or we will cease all funding, stop all Mexican truck traffic from entering the USA, and enact a 50% tariff on all goods brought into the USA from Mexico.
That would be a good first day in office.
Second day in office:
(1) The policy (it is NOT a law, but merely a policy) that the 14th Amendment somehow means if you are born on US soil that you are a citizen, is hereby revoked.
(2) Freeze ALL immigration into the USA for 1 year, including legal.
(3) Recind all H1B work visas and college visas, along with their dependents, and give them 180 days to leave.
(4) Freeze all citizenship proceedings for 1 year.
We don't even need to be so draconian. The federal government has no right to know whether or not I am a citizen, unless they have evidence that I am not.
We don't need government to push the illegals back out. We just need to stop letting them in, and stop giving them free gifts.
We should also end the modern form of slavery called hiring illegal immigrants. The way you do that is pretty easy: make it unprofitable for a business to hire an illegal. It can be anything that makes it so, from having them pay a huge fine when they get caught hiring an illegal, to making them pay for the illegals when they are here, etc... Make it unprofitable, the employment will end.
Right now we punish businesses for hiring citizens. Maybe we should tax all jobs, except those that can prove they are citizens, they get a huge discount.
I agree with your scenario, I just don't understand the process and mechanisms to do so. I saw my hometown in Massachusetts get overrun with illegals and watched the crime exponentially increase as well. I had to move away as I couldn't raise my kids in that environment nor let them attend school where the ESL students out number the English speakers.
Many states have issued drivers licenses, state ID's and social security cards.
🟢 Will all those documents be revoked?
🟢 Will there be a pathway to citizenship?
🟢 What if a US citizen married an illegal but never followed the citizenship process?
👆👆 A good friend of mine is a US citizen (born here) but he's had 4 kids with a woman from Guatemala. She doesn't speak English very well, doesn't drive and they don't wear wedding bands. They both work hard and contribute to their community, pay taxes and are raising the kids right.
Exactly where will the deportation line be drawn? 🤷♂️
During the 60s and 70s, it was simple: If you were here illegally and you were caught, you were deported. It did not matter if you had kids that were American etc. You could marry an American to keep from being deported, but immigration investigated the situation to make sure it was legit. I worked in an industrial park area in the 70's and would regularly see the immigration vans making raids on businesses. You would see people scatter, run through fields, jump out windows, etc. It was quite the spectacle. One problem then as now, not enough sanctions were placed upon the businesses that hired these people. That has to change. If there are no benefits or jobs for them, they won't come. If an employer is caught employing illegals, take away the employee tax exemption and place fines. Losing tax exemptions will usually result in things changing quickly. If we do not crack down on one of the biggest magnets that brings people here illegally, we will be fighting a losing battle.
You are right, I don't think there will be the political will to get the job done. In addition, unless the Congress reverses the power they handed over to the Federal Judiciary to make decisions in one state that can block or order actions nationally, nothing will change with regards to dealing with this problem. Anything the administration tries to do will be undone or blocked by some liberal judge. That is essentially why we are in this mess. A single Federal Judge can stop the entire process. Congress ceded power over to the courts so they wouldn't have to do the job we elected them to do. They can take that power back - but I doubt they will.
Take their benefits and freebies, identify them and take prints and blood, and then start them walking towards Texas. If they all supposedly walked from whatever shithole country to here, they can walk back. If you can point them all towards Texas we will make sure they keep going south. Just let us know so we can cancel our other appointments.
Ah, you sir, are you an illegal immigrant? Yes sir, just step through that door. Yes, the food will only last until you get back to the border. As they say in your homeland, Adios! Or whatever.
Why didn't they do it before? Don't get me wrong, I will absolutely vote for Trump again, and I absolutely want Tom Homan to run a big deportation operation. But why didn't they do it last time?
You are living in a fantasy land. A large portion of Americans just want free stuff from the government, if that means they have to allow massive illegal immigration to get it, they will do it. We have got to get away from thinking that we can build our way out of any of this. I don't care what the vote says
Much of what Trump tried to do was blocked by the courts. All it takes is one well selected Federal Judge to nix what an administration is trying to do. If I remember correctly, it was a San Diego Federal judge that ruled minors apprehended at the border had to be released within 72 hours and could not remain detained. That is why there are thousands of kids missing. There is no time to vet the kids or their so called sponsors. If they don't get the kids out within 72 hours, they get sued. To hell with what happens to the children. A large portion of our border mess has to do with rulings handed down by a single judge and Congress is unwilling to tackle the issue.
However, even though those judges have given us an immigration nightmare, that judicial power does at times work in our favor when there is executive overreach - as in 2A cases. We have been fortunate several times since Biden stole the WH to have a Federal judge put the kibosh on some executive or regulatory action. So it does cut both ways.
Congress gave Federal judges the power to do this, and Congress can take that power back - but that would mean they would have to actually do their job and legislate - something I don't see happening anytime soon. So until we can solve this problem of rouge judges legislating from the bench, it is going to be very difficult for Trump, or anyone else, to fix the immigration mess much less anything else. Easier said than done.
Exactly my point. What is it that Trump's going to do differently this time? I want to hear that he's going to go crazy extreme, that's the only way he can get our agenda done. But if he's going to go in there and play politics again, none of what we want will be accomplished
There is no way that a president alone can get the job done - that is what a dictator does. So that being the case, I don't see much getting done on the immigration front - at least not in the way we would like. That is going to have to be done bit by bit and fought through the courts the entire way. A wall - now that we can do. As far as rounding up the people already here - that is going to be a tougher fight.
What he can do is drastically cut the executive branch - especially taking an ax to the SES - that is the deep state. He wanted to wack them before, but as with many other things, he caved to his advisors. I don't think he will make that mistake again and they know it. That is why they are pulling out all the stops to keep him out of the WH. They know if he gets back in there, look out.
Tom is just a true patriot! These illegals injected into these cities, towns and metro areas all have a paper & money trail. It will be a massive task force for Homan, but we know he'll get the job done. Plus all the other illegals from the past years.
Trump gave DACA options for a 12 year path to citizenship, they did not budge on the deal. Now all will be subjects of 'their' inaction.
Wait, that headline.. Why the FUCK would we pay other countries to house migrants? SHIP EM BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND GIVE THEM A BAG OF DOGSHIT FOR THEIR TROUBLE.

"Free food for illegal immigrants!"
Ah, you sir, are you an illegal immigrant? Yes sir, just step through that door. Yes, the food will only last until you get back to the border. As they say in your homeland, Adios! Or whatever.
Its a drop in the bucket compared to the 100 million descendant anchor babies from the 80s and 90s.
Why didn't they do it before? Don't get me wrong, I will absolutely vote for Trump again, and I absolutely want Tom Homan to run a big deportation operation. But why didn't they do it last time?
Maybe because it wasn't 'as bad' and people had to see for themselves how bad it CAN get....
You are living in a fantasy land. A large portion of Americans just want free stuff from the government, if that means they have to allow massive illegal immigration to get it, they will do it. Start by pulling dual citizenship out and sending them home.
Start by deporting people with U.S. citizenship? That's weird.

Unfuckinbelievable!
