Ive considered myself conservative and a republican my whole life. Lately though, ive been questioning some of that. And i dont mean that im going anti-maga blue haired weirdo. But Ive been faced with some situations that have me questioning my convictions.
To begin, i generally think of myself as a capitalist, but i cant say im happy with capitalism the way things are. All these mega corporations have unlimited capital and snuff out the small businesses. Meanwhile, folks who work for these corps are having a hard and harder time getting by. When walmart first started popping up decades ago, one by one, the small mom and pop shops went out of business. The mega corps also have all the polititians in their pockets and it seems that they get all the backroom deals. Recently, big money developers have been buying up all the farmland in my rurual county and putting in high density subdivisions. This has made alot of the local folks very angry and and we pleaded with the county coucil, but one member, whos also a republican just says "its not the governements business what a person does with their land". While i do agree, it feels wrong that all this big money swoops in, buys all the land and builds stuff that local folks really dont want. And I mean, we had hundreds of signatures, dozens of townfolks speaking against it and they just approve them anyways.
The other thing making me second guess my convictions is environmental conservatism. And i dont mean give all our money away in the Paris Accord, but I genuinely worry about the extinction of various species of local wildlife. I worry about some of these factories and the pollutionntheyre putting in our local waterways. When these developer comes, they just mow down hundreds of acres of woodlands and i worry about where all the wildlife will go.
One thing is for sure, im sick of human government, political corruption, and some of these corporations and their dirty money in politician's pockets. Honestly, I'm ready for Christ to return and establish His Righteous and Holy reign on Earth.
Don't confuse corporate oligarchy with free market capitalism. None of us currently alive have ever lived under free market capitalism as it once was.
Amen, fren!
I keep writing things and then deleting them. I'll just leave this here.
"Let not your heart be troubled." Jesus - John 14:1
That's not capitalism's fault though. You are describing corporatism, a different beast all together. Capitalism is what allows me to own a small business working from home so I can homeschool my kids. Thank GOD for capitalism!!!
Good for u ! Praise God , I’m so happy for your children. I pray God continues to bless your business, above and beyond what you could ask or think!
We don't really have capitalism now. It's some weird evil conglomerate of government and business.
We have what is called corporatism.
Stay away from Wikipedia on this. Eye bleach will be necessary. Social Marxism in full effect on Wikipedia when it comes to this topic.
Your first issue is with corruption not capitalism.
Second issue is solved by clean water and clean air which Trump campaigned on.
Remove the corruption and all of these things naturally take care of themselves
the number of laws on the books in the US is insane. The 3 letter agencies don't regulate business they control business.
We don't live in anything close to free market capitalism. The corrupt government uses regulations to control business They pick the winners and losers.
As for the environment. I always tell my wife I am all for conservation. No reason to waste resources. Also want to protect wildlife. The globalists have hijacked the environmental movement. They use it to control industry, people and wealth.
You see the globalists take good virtues and twist them for their own purpose.
The whole right/left fight is total bullshit. You can be a free market capitalist and conservationist at the same time. Don't allow them to control how you think.
Small "r" republican.
When minority votes are protected (think rural vs urban, or local town vs state), the republic works. For example, many cities and towns worked hard to prevent Wal-Mart from moving in, to save local businesses and jobs, but were overruled by state and sometimes federal enforcement of laws. NIMBYism has gotten a bad rap in the media, but giving rights to local voters is what a republic is all about. Same thing with Amazon, and a thousand other cookie-cutter corps that use centralized (and corrupt) power to override the will of locals everywhere. The big R party is full of rinos, and merely one wing of the uniparty, at least until MAGA.
Party politics is messed up, and even more messed up with a centralized power structure. People politics and decentralized power is where politics should be. George Washington pointed this out beautifully in his farewell address.
Capitalism has been perverted by corrupt politicians. Mostly democrats. Corrupt politicians determining winners and losers. Usually whoever gives them the most money.
These fucking politicians that have been so obviously compromised are not Republicans. They are fucking snakes.
Many of us have to choose one of the party affiliations to participate in primaries. Rarely have we seen a viable candidate outside of the parties.
As far as 50 years back many of us participated in "Conservation" efforts that made a real difference. We cleaned up the worst of pollution and implemented land management projects that protected most wildlife species. These days nearly everything claiming to be conservation is a money laundering scheme with few exceptions.
I lean more toward anarchist or voluntaryist every day.... of course, "they" have sullied the meaning of the word "anarchy" so that people recoil from it and don't even look into it.
Anarchy doesn’t mean “No Rules”; it specifically means “No Rulers,” but because the organized crime “Rulers” don’t want the public to know there is an option on the menu called “No Rulers,” they have used their weaponized media and propaganda system to change the meaning of the word: “No Rulers” to mean: Chaos and Dystopia.
VOLUNTARYISM is a philosophy based on consent consistently applied in all human interactions. Consent - uncoerced, positive agreement - is an integral part of a society base don natural rights, including freedom of association, private property, and self-defense.
Voluntaryism - A political and social philosophy that all forms of human association should be voluntary and based on the Non-Aggression Principal (NAP) that posits that any initiation of violence on peaceful people is illegitimate, no matter what the outcome, but allows for the use of force in self-defense or to protect property. There is also an understanding that the world is a self-organizing system that produces spontaneous order with no need for top-down hierarchical control of society. In a voluntaryist society, all the “services” provided by the government — from protection to roads to charity — would be better supplied by voluntary interaction, the free market, mutual aid societies, co-ops, non-profits, and genuine charity. https://theconsciousresistance.com/the-5-step-guide-to-applying-agorism-to-your-life
Agorism is a political philosophy and strategy that advocates for the use of voluntary exchanges, counter-economics, and decentralized technologies as a means of achieving a free and peaceful society. It is based on the belief that individuals have the right to make their own decisions without interference from the government or other centralized authorities.

I don't know about you but I'm MAGA, ULTRA MAGA that is.
be a republican. government by and for the people is the only legitimate form.
You're a patriot of faith. Any other labels are irrelevant.
Within a free market, you must have anti trust enforcement. We have seen a sharp decline in anti- trust enforcement since the 70’s. Then exacerbated by the roll back of anti trust laws by Bill Clinton. We have never seen this level of corporate control. America experienced a similar situation in the 20’s and 30’s which was quelled by the Anti Trust (Anti Monopoly) movement with Roosevelt being the first president to address the issue with action. Both R’s and D’s supported Anti Trust Law and enforcement and the country's small buisness flourished. It slowly lost its glamor due to the positive effects and disappeared from the podium and campaign trail. In my lifetime I saw the breakup of “Ma Bell” the last mega corp I remember to be broken up through enforcement.
Call me what you want, but we need some Anti Trust Movement, Enforcement and Law strengthening. You talk about corruption in DC, well a candidate wont get far on a ticket with my views on this. Thats why we need it!
As a lifelong former Republican from a Republican family I came to this intersection as well. I wandered for a little while until I found the third path. If you want to find it also, just remember most everything has been inverted and perverted. Pray and question everything.
We’re all ready for Christ’s return. Like NOW. Fortunately, we have ALL been chosen to live in THIS time of tumult, because we are a part of God’s plan for RIGHT NOW. Hallelujah! We have been chosen for such a time as this! Brush yourself off and get back to work. Listen to that still small voice and obey it!
Government - not right. Corporatism - not right. Environmentalism - not right.
All have been hijacked, and those feelings you have? Pick the strongest one and start fighting for it! The elite have perverted EVERYTHING. We have today to set things right.
Amen. I too am ready for Christ's return. I look forward to it so much.
