I think the judge and James are counting on a mistrial and trying to provoke it.
But rather than do the expected Trump just takes the stand and starts saying all stuff on record and to his face that judge forbade him to say on TS. He's literally campaigning from the courtroom instead of sitting there taking his punishment, and there's nothing they can do about it.
From what I understand. The Judge has already ruled President Trump is guilty. The trial is about how much money President Trump will have to fork over.
