Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Remember when they* would ask you to say "cheese" before taking a photo? Post awakening, "cheese" has a much darker meaning. It makes me wish we could flair comments.
🤢 These people are sick! 🤮
*EDIT Where did we learn this? School pictures? Chances are at least a few were pedos.
Yeah, it blew my mind when someone mentioned that school pictures and year books could be considered as a pedo menu. Then I quickly went down the rabbit hole of has anyone been arrested for pedo shit that was a school photographer. Then Sears and JC Penny family photos.
What's the darker meaning of cheese?
It's a pizzagate thing.
Thanks I figured that out after I read many comments. Wonder if that's a reason emojis were invented. It's just to many evils in the world to keep up.
I always ask people to say “shit”. It’s unexpected and makes most people smile and laugh. The few who disapprove just get bad pictures.
I have told people "look at how gorgeous you look! I think the camera will break your so gorgeous" You will get them to smile!, amazing what a compliment will do.
Cool responses. 😅 I might try stealing both of those, although the "beautiful one" is more my style than the "shit" one. Both work!
And upvoted the OP merely for an interesting thought. Not exactly sure what they are taking about.
I believe it's a pizzagate reference.
Strangely, saying "cheese" does not even make your mouth to shape like its smiling. Always bothered me.
Me too. So I ignore the command and just smile. No need to say anything!
Funny you say that. When I was young I argued with my father over this. He won by emphasizing the ..eeeeeeze. His cheeks puffed out, presenting the smirk. Cheeeeeze. I'm sure I said it. Consequences. But I enjoyed pissing him off, for some reason. kek
Have you tried saying linberger cheese? Perhaps Roquefort? Or Gouda? Go try in the mirror then report back.
Just did. Duck lips both times
Oh how do I quack thee? Let me quack the ways!
Huh?
Just sold a bucket if sparks...
I disagree: this thread is awesome for GC. LOL.
In my experience "cheeeeeeeze" makes my 4 year old look absurd - dreadful smiles. But that might just be his style as bad, artificial smiles run in the family.
And yeah, everyone loves cheese pizza. Bastards.
We have been trained to smile while saying cheese. But if you just say cheese, you dont have to extend your lips like you are smiling. Try just saying cheese.
Saying cheese makes you show your teeth
